The Book of Jude is a story about apostasy. And so this is what we're going to get into today. Apostasy means like, a falling away or a forsaking or sometimes even alluded to as neglecting. So a lot of times you're not going to hear the Book of jude in the 501C3 system. Like, most people have never heard a sermon on Jude. And I think as we kind of go through the book, we're going to see kind of exactly why people might shy away from this one. I got the shades on today because I got my eyes dilated. I had this appointment this morning. I had no clue that they were dilating them. And I actually had to call Top from the. From the eye appointment. But it was kind of wild because the lady's like, we're gonna. We're gonna. We're gonna dilate the. We're gonna dilate your eyes. And I was like, whoa, whoa, whoa, wait. I. I have to go on a podcast and like, an hour, and I have to read and stuff. And she's like, yeah, you're not gonna be able to read. So I called Top, told him what was going on. He laughed at me, like, hysterically. Made me feel very uncomfortable. And then she started asking about, what's the podcast about? And so I explained to him, it's like Nephilim Death Squad, the kind of things they're into. Conspiracy theory, comedy, current events. And. But I said, but I do straight Bible on it. So she said, the more I told her, she was like, yo, are these dudes saved? And I was like, it's complicated. It's complicated. The one guy just got baptized yesterday in the. But it's complicated. Like, if you watch it, you may or may not think they're saved. So I told her this whole story. And then I went from, like, the one office to the next office. And Florida Retina Institute is a legit spot, dude. Like, I don't like going to the doctor. And this was a super legit spot, very professional. So I went to the next office with the next Lady. And the first girl said, hey, tell her about your podcast. So I told her. She's like, no way. That's incredible. She's like the girl you just left from just got baptized too. Like, she's a. She's a new believer. We've been doing a Bible study and so this chick was like a mature believer. The second one, and then it was just a rad thing the whole way it unfolded. And they were pumped to hear about the Christian library and the coffee shop right up the road and to hear about the nephilim death squad. So I told them, check it out, we're going live on Jude. So. So we're in Jude and I can't read anything. So it might be a little clunky today because Top's going to be doing some of the reading from my notes. So I hope my notes are kind of clear. But. But this is what's going on in Jude, man. He's warning about apostasy or falling away and he's saying like, we gotta stay the course. And a lot of people probably don't know this, but this is a pretty common theme in the scripture, man. It's like the book Hebrews. I would say that's a dominant theme is the danger of falling away, the danger of apostasy. A lot of people don't know this, but in John's gospel in chapter 20, he actually says the purpose of writing the Gospel of John is so that people would believe that and go on believing. Because I think there's this common thought today in the modern system of like you just say this prayer, like you come up to the front even there's this thing that somebody made up, so called the sinner's prayer. And people's thought is like, you just make this one time prayer and then you're good. And I don't think anybody would gather that from just reading the Bible. I think you have to be taught that to believe that. Like, if you're just reading a Bible, you'll be very conscious of this concept of staying the course. Like Jesus even says, he that endures into the end will be saved. And there's just so many warnings against falling away, against like getting on this path and then getting off this path. So the main thing is that you get on the path and that you stay there. So we're just going to open the book of Jude, man, and just get down with it. We got some scriptures lined up that Top's going to read, which hopefully like, can they see you?
David
Can they, can you yeah, they can see me.
Matt
Yeah. There's my guy. Dude, he's reading today.
David
I love so. Jude 1, verse 1. Jude, the servant of Jesus Christ and the brother of James to them that are sanctified by God the Father and preserved in Jesus Christ and called mercy unto you and peace and love be multiplied.
Matt
Okay, hang on. So right in the jump, we see who it's written to. That's why the. That's why the intro. A lot of times people just buzz through the intro, but it's important to note that this is written to those. Can we pull it back up? Who are like, they're saved, they're sanctified, they're preserved. And then called. Remember we talked about. Called last week, we pulled up that Timothy passage that says that you've been saved and called with a holy calling in Christ Jesus before the world began. And so this is that same thing. If you've been saved, you've been called. So we talked about it being a destiny, but anyway, that's who this is written to. So it's not written to unbelievers. These warnings coming up are not to non believers. This is to believers. So where we at in verse? Where we at verse three.
David
All right.
Matt
Yeah.
David
Verse three. Beloved, when I gave. When I gave all diligence to write unto you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints.
Matt
Okay, so he's basically saying, like, I set out to write to you about common salvation. He's like, yeah, I'm just going to sit down and write about, like, the lovely realities of the salvation life, man of eternal life and what it's like. And I don't want to see all these comments popping up.
David
What is.
Matt
Why are you doing that?
David
So.
Matt
So he's saying, I was going to just write, like, a normal thing, but then I decided that it was needful for me to write unto you. How does it say it again? Can you pull it back up again?
David
Yeah, he says it was an exhort you that ye should earnestly contain.
Matt
Earnestly contend for the faith. You don't hear that much, man. Other places in the scripture, it says, like, seek out your own salvation with fear and trembling. But he's saying, I was gonna just write to you about a common thing. But then, like, right in the middle of. While I was writing, I changed. No, man, I decided I really needed to write to you and exhort you that you would earnestly contend for the faith. There's other places in the scripture it talks about laying hold on eternal life. Like, there. Like, this is a big deal, man. He's like, you guys are on the path, and I decided I better tell you to earnestly contend for the faith. And this intro is really similar to the Hebrews, chapter two, verses one through three, which I think. I think we got it. I think top, bro. Let's go.
David
Therefore, we ought to give more earnest heed.
Matt
See that? Earnest again. It means, like, serious earnest heed. Same thing. Hebrews. Very similar to Jude in this. In this concept of, like, being serious and staying on the path.
David
We ought to give more earnest heed to the things which we have heard, lest at any time we should let them slip.
Matt
Do you see what I'm saying? There's a danger in letting them slip. He wouldn't say, like, these things which we've heard, lest at any time we should let them slip, unless there's a possibility that we let them slip. So he's. This is a warning.
David
Want me to continue?
Matt
Yeah, yeah. We'll go to chapter or verse two and verse three. Okay.
David
For if the word spoken by angels was steadfast and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense of reward, how shall we.
Matt
How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? I know it says that. How shall we escape if we neglect so great salvation? Like, that's what's being said, man. People. We've talked about this before, about people, like, rejecting salvation, but this is this other thing. It's neglecting it. So you get people. They haven't, like, rejected it. Maybe they kind of get on the path and then they start to neglect it. So we have to earnestly contend for the faith. We have to lay hold on salvation. This isn't something casual. There's no. There's not gonna be any casual people that end up in eternal life, man. Like, it's. It's a very intentional thing. It's a very much a forsaking of the world, forsaking of self, forsaking of all the old ways and very intentionally seeking God and his kingdom. I don't. I'm not totally sure where we're at in the notes, but I say we just keep rolling with all the Scripture passages. Like, what's the next thing on there?
David
Okay.
Matt
Yeah.
David
The next one we have is first Timothy.
Matt
What's he saying?
David
Let me see. Hold on.
Matt
Sorry if this is a little clunky, man. I just. We. We had. We. I was like top, are we going to do it? Because I can't read. Maybe we shouldn't even do the show today. I could do our show with the three of us, but not really my own. He's like, no, I'll read it, I'll read it. I'll read this guy.
David
Let's see where we're at, though. I might have pulled up the wrong one. We had first Timothy 6, 5, 12. Is that that correct?
Matt
Yeah, but I think it really jumped starting in verse seven, maybe seven.
David
All right, let me pull that up. Here we go. Sorry, guys. It's, it's really the blue letter Bible's fault. We're, we're doing our best to pull up all the scripture, bro.
Matt
What? Can't you just go to one? I could pull up my Bible quicker.
David
Go ahead, go ahead, please.
Matt
I know where it's at. It's just like, okay, there you go, there you go. One TIM six Starting like seven.
David
Okay. For we brought nothing into this world and it is certain that we carry. We can carry nothing out.
Matt
Boom. Hold on, hold on. That's like, we brought nothing into this world and is certain we can carry nothing out. If you, if like nobody remembers anything from this study other than that, it'll be well worth it if everybody can just keep that in mind. Like, you come into the world as this naked, bloody little baby with nothing. And whatever you accumulate, like, you're not taking any of it with you. This is just this very temporary realm for 120 years you're walking around in. A lot of the apostasy always ends up revolving around that around, like using Christianity for gain in this life like that. Like, that's where a lot of the apostasy comes through in the scripture. That's where a lot of the warnings come from. You start falling into the cares and concerns of this world. You start loving the riches and the flesh. You start loving like the lustful things of the natural realm and our animal nature. And that's where people get led astray and that's where they got to get put back on track. But that wasn't really what that was just a gangster verse. But we're gonna read the rest of it.

David
And Raymond, let us, let us be there with content, food and clothes.
Matt
Like, if you got food and clothes, stop complaining because like, in America, it's the wildest thing, dude. We have like food, clothes, running water, electricity. I can push like buttons on the wall, make whatever temperature I want in my car, in my house. I have like all of these benefits and all, like you go in this building, you get this cart that's on wheels and you put food in it from all around the planet. And then you just like swipe this card and go home with food from all over the planet. And you can shove your fridge full and your pantry, you have like all this stuff. And Scripture's like, yo, if you have food and clothes, be content with that. Because eternity is what's at stake.
David
But that they be that. But that they will be rich.
Matt
Oh, that's. Now it says date. It says, but they that will be rich.
David
But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare and into many foolish and hurtful lusts. Can you see or do you, do you.
Matt
Actually, I know this passage. Yeah, they that be rich. Well, it's saying that those that want to be rich, that will be rich, fall into a temptation and snare and hurtful lust and something to the extent of like many people air from the.
David
Faith because of this, which drown men in destruction and perdition.
Matt
Yeah, yeah, that's what it's saying. It's so like everybody that's like, oh yeah, Christianity and I'm going to be wealthy. It's going to be no problem, no problem. I'm not against living in America and working hard and earning money. I'm totally not against that. It's just be warned that many people fall into a snare because of chasing dollars and wanting money again. It all revolves around, like this. It just ends up revolving around the temporary realm and the benefits you get in the temporary realm. There's another place where Paul says, if I have hope in Christ in this life, only if we, if we have hope in Christ in this life only we are of all men most miserable. And like, that's what you see with like the so called prosperity gospel is like these people preaching the benefits of Christ in this life, only that those people, I don't have to tell most people, they already know. Those are of all people most miserable. Those are the fakers, like the fakers, the hypocrites in Christianity. Those are the ones that are the most miserable because they're trying to use and Manipulate Christ for personal gain?
David
Is this what Jude is talking about in these first four verses here?
Matt
Bro, We. Yeah. Wait, we haven't even really got going on Jude. We're just, like, elaborating on verse three, right?
David
Yeah.
Matt
Yeah.
David
All right. So back to Jude.
Matt
Yeah. Watch. No, he's going to use tons of examples throughout the whole book. He's going to use tons of examples of. Of, like this apostasy and what happens. And it always revolves around the temporary realm.
David
Beloved, when I gave all diligence right unto you out of common to you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write unto you and exhort you that ye should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the city.
Matt
We go back to the one Timothy.
David
Oh, first Timothy.
Matt
We only read, like, the two verses, bro. Sorry, I was keep cutting you off. I just get hyped, dude.
David
Over.
Matt
And if somebody else is, like, reading, I just want to jump in because it's like, I'm not the one reading it, so I could just jump in and say stuff.
David
So. Verse 10, 1st Timothy 6:10. For the love of money is the root of all evil.
Matt
Bro, you weren't going to read that, bro. What?
David
Dude, I.
Matt
Do people know this is in the scripture. I just don't know if people know these passages exist. I won't cut you off. We got to read all the way to the end. What's. What's the last verse?
David
Okay. Which while some coveted after they have aired from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
Matt
That's what I'm saying. That's what I'm saying, dude. Like, the love of money just takes people astray. I won't keep cutting you off.
David
I can keep going. Am I allowed to read?
Matt
Yes.
David
Okay. But thou, O man of God, flee these things and follow after. Righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness. What does meekness mean?
Matt
Meekness is like you could whoop somebody's ass, but you don't. It's not. It's. It's like you have all of that ability within you. It's kind of like when Abraham takes Lot with him, and Lot only has what he has because of Abraham. And then Abraham says, all right, Lot, we have to go separate ways because we've accumulated so much cattle and wealth and stuff. And I'm your uncle, and the only reason you have anything is because of me. So he doesn't say, so I'll take the good land and you take the bad land. He says, no, no, no. I have Every right to have whichever land I want. But lot I'll let you pick. You go ahead and pick whichever way you want to go. I'll let you pick. It's like David when he's in the cave with Saul and he could kill him, but he doesn't. He just goes and cuts off the thing on his skirt. It says in the King James. And he totally could have. That's meekness. Not. Not like he couldn't kill him, but he could and chose not to. That's meekness. And the meek will inherit the earth. Meek is a big thing in the scripture.
David
Fight the good, fight the good fight of faith. Lay hold on eternal life where unto thou are also called.
Matt
That's it. That's what we wanted to hit right there. So. So I'm just saying this is. This is drastically different from what most people that you talk to today understand about faith, man. We have the good fight of faith and we have to lay hold on eternal life. It's not casual. It's not casual. Okay, where we at? What's the next.
David
You want to continue on first? First Timothy, or do you want to go to the next scripture?
Matt
Go to the next scripture. What was after I fig.
David
Do you want to go back to Jude?
Matt
Yeah, let's go ahead and read through four, because I think verse four is where the rubber really meets the road, man. I think this is where people are going to get the sweaty palms and maybe a little bit of the sweaty forehead and get a little shaky. This is where it gets a little, you know, let's. Well, it's like, hey, what's the issue about? Because verse four starts with the word for, which always means because. So, like, why is he saying, hey, man, I was just gonna write about common stuff and salvation, but then I wanted to warn you and tell you to, like, contend for the faith, man. You had to contend for it and you have to lay hold on it. So why verse four starts with because.
David
For there are certain men crept in unawares who were before of old ordained to this condemnation. Ungodly men turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness and denying the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
Matt
Damn. Oh, dude, this is a big deal. For there are certain men crept. What?
Commentator
Unaware?
Matt
No, no. Crept. What?
David
Crept in.
Matt
In.
David
Yeah.
Matt
Wait, so this isn't like Islam or Buddhism or Hindu, bro. This is crept in. It's not out there. They've crept into the church. Oh, dude, this is where people get rowdy. This is where people get really offended. But this is exactly the point of this book, dude. He's saying people have crept in, unaware they're in the church, and what are they doing in the church? They're turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, which is the equivalent of denying Jesus. D. Dude, this is too much. This is too much. Because this is one of the crazy things. When I first started to go to the 501C3 system by the grace of God, I had read so much scripture before I ever went to church. And one of the most confusing things to me when I started to talk to church people was, like, they would say some sin that they were doing or something in their life that they weren't doing, like praying or reading scripture. And they would always say, that's okay. We have grace. And I was always like, I don't. I don't. I don't think that's what that word means. And I'd love to do a deep dive on the word grace someday, not today, but to, like, say exactly what that means. But it doesn't mean it's okay to live in sin. And it looks like the way that that's taught today is nothing new. Like, that was a. That was an issue in Jude's day. He was saying, these dudes have crept into the church. They're in the church and they're turning the grace of God into lasciviousness, as opposed to coming to the understanding that grace gives you the ability to overcome sin. Like, that's what it is. Forgiveness or mercy for sins existed in the Old Testament, but the law came by Moses, and grace and truth came by Jesus Christ. Grace was this new thing. It was the ability to overcome sin, not just be forgiven for it, but to be able to overcome it. And whenever you see these dudes in the church saying, yeah, it's okay to sin because you have grace that's turning the grace of God into lasciviousness. And certainly that has levels just like anything else, dude. Like, people do that on a high level, down to a low level, but whenever they teach that, that's where things go haywire. And that's why Jude's writing this letter. And I think that's why we never hear sermons on Jude, to be totally honest. So I think we probably have several. Because people may not be familiar with that. Talking too loud?
David
No, no, no.
Matt
Because people may not be familiar with that. I know I wrote a ton of notes about, like, these other passages that make it clear that there's fakers in the church.
David
First, John, you want to Go there?
Matt
Yeah.
David
Okay, so first John, chapter two. Love. Not the world. Neither the things that are in the world. If any man love the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
Matt
Wait, what? If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. Does the church know that? Because, like, as you see, the world just blending into the church, in the church, becoming like the world. Like, with this idea that, like, if we be like the world, we're gonna win the world. Yeah. Where you see that if you love the world, like, this is one thing that happens, man, as you get closer to the Lord is like the. The glitter and shine of the world just doesn't mean that much. It just. It just kind of. It just kind of fades away. It doesn't mean much anymore. So, like, if the. If you love the world, the love of the Father's not in you. I'm not. And I'm not trying to condemn anybody. It just takes time. It just. This thing just takes time, man. The closer and closer you get to the Lord, the more the world just loses its luster. And so we just have to be mindful, because this is always happening in scripture, that the Covenant people are becoming like the world. Like, that was his message to Israel, was like, yo, I'm going to set you in the middle of all these nations. They're going to hate you and they're going to try to lead you astray. Whatever you do, don't blend in with them, man. You're the Covenant people. You have to set the example. You have to set the tone for planet Earth. Like, that was their job, and that's the job of the church. And so anywhere you see the Covenant people becoming more and more like the world, then you see a meaningless church. It's just meaningless.
David
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life is not of the Father, but is of the world.
Matt
Temporary.
David
Yeah. And the world passeth away. And the lust therefore of. But he that doeth the will of God abideth forever the little children. It is the last time. And as ye have heard, that the Antichrist shall come. Even now, there are many Antichrists.
Matt
Uh oh.
David
Whereby we know that it is the last time.
Matt
Okay, so hang on. So the scripture, John specifically deals with the Antichrist. Antichrist plural. There's Antichrist plural, but there will ultimately one day be the Antichrist. And then he also deals with. In another letter or maybe later in first John, the spirit of Antichrist. So all of those things exist. But the thing I want to key in on is the next verse, right? So he's talking about antichrist will come. But there's many antichrists, and I just want to talk about, like, where they came from.

Yeah. Verse 19. They went out from us, but they were not of us.
Matt
They went out from where?
David
From us, bro.
Matt
They were in the church.
David
Yes, but they were not of us.
Matt
Antichrist in the church. Salah.
David
Yeah, man. For if it had been of us, they would no doubt have continued with us. But they went out that they might be made manifest that they were not all of us.
Matt
So I just want to leave everybody with that.
David
Just.
Matt
Just think about that, man. The Antichrist, plural, went out from among the church. Not trying to hurt anybody's feelings. We're just going straight.
David
Bible says the notes not new Nehemiah.
Matt
Yeah. Yeah. I think the point in that note I was making was just like, this isn't a new thing that Satan, who has a kingdom. I probably have that reference, too. Satan has a kingdom. Jesus says that somewhere in Matthew's gospel.
David
12:26.
Matt
Yeah, Matthew 12:26. We don't have to pull it up. But I'm just saying that's where Jesus alludes to the fact that Satan has a kingdom. Right. And one of his strategies is to infiltrate the church. Like in Nehemiah's day, they were building the wall and they couldn't stop him. So initially, he'll start to try to stop them like that. Like that's. That's initially his thing is to just, like, crush the church, crush the covenant people. And if he can't do that, then he tries to blend in with them. He tries to just kind of sneak in and infiltrate the system and get it watered down, get the people to compromise, get the people to not be sanctified and set apart for God, but to just kind of blend in with the world. So in Nehemiah's day, they sent guys in to try to get within the rebuilding of the walls, to. To mess it all up. I probably have a note there, too, on, like, Rome in 300 AD. It looks like Satan just tried to kill the church in the beginning, right? Like this first couple hundred years. Yeah, the first couple hundred years of the church. He's just trying to, like, there's tons of martyrs. That's why they say the blood of the martyrs is the seed of the church. This dude is always like, this, man. But even is that jacket just boxing guys or, like, oh, geez, so sorry about that. He tries to, like, crush the church. He realizes he can't kill him off. He realizes that the more he keeps killing off Christians, the more it keeps growing and growing. So he tries to infiltrate it and water it down. And that's where you see, like, Constantine in the year 300. He says, no, no, Christianity is cool with Rome. And then the dude that comes after him, I forget who. He even makes it, like, the national religion. So I'm not even trying to get into the whole thing. What's it called where, like, all of America is Christian?
David
What's it, Christendom?
Matt
No, this. Christian nationalism. He started doing that. He started doing Christian nationalism, which is like, the Catholic Church is the. Is like, Christian nationalism. It's where, like, the church just becomes part of the state, the state becomes part of the church. It's all kind of involved together. Whereas the scripture teaches that the church is a remnant. It's even a remnant within a remnant. So this is his strategy, man. Like, try to kill it off. If he can't, then just enter in and make him compromise, which Jude's gonna allude to later with the story of, like, Balam. That's what he did, too. Like, this book gets deep. This book gets deep. We're only going, like, verse one through four because. Because we ain't going to be able to get through all of Jude, even though it's one chapter.
David
Well, pertaining to the kingdoms, you have Second Corinthians 11, 13, 15. I don't know if you want to read that.
Matt
Yeah, let's look at that.
David
All right, so for. So this is 2nd Corinthians 11:13. For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. And no marvel, for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light. Therefore, it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness, whose end shall be according to their works.
Matt
So, yeah, so Paul's talking about false apostles, which is no surprise. Satan himself appears as an angel of light. So it's no surprise that his ministers can do the same. And that's the point I'm trying to make. He sneaks them into the church. And Paul right there is saying, it's no surprise. That's his strategy. It's no surprise that's what he's doing.
David
I mean, moving on to Revelation here if you want to, because you have a couple of scriptures here that seem to lined up for the same. The same topic.
Matt
Yeah, we're just keying in on this, man, that they're in the church and that this is a strategy of Satan in his kingdom. Because we want, we don't want to be ignorant to the wiles of the devil.
David
Revelation 2:1 Unto the angel of the church of Ephesus, right? These things saith he that holdeth the seven star in his right hand, who walketh in the midst of the seven golden candlesticks.
Matt
So this is Jesus speaking. This is the, the. The epistles of Jesus to the seven churches in Asia Minor in the beginning of Revelation. Look what he says in verse two. This is the church at Ephesus.
David
I know thy works and thy labor and thy patience, and how thou canst not bear them which are evil. And thou has tried them which say they are apostles and are not, and has found them liars.
Matt
He applauded them. You see what I'm saying? He applauded them and said, good job. Those dudes were fakers. They said they were apostles, but they weren't. They were fakers. And you tried them and found them to be liars. You didn't have blind faith. Like, the scripture is not in favor of blind faith. It's saying like, no, you have the book, you have the word of God. Dudes come on the scene preaching something that's not Bible, that's not from the word of God. Try those dudes. You found them to be liars, and I applaud you for that. That's what he says.
David
That's. That's hard.
Matt
That's what I'm saying. That goes hard, bro, we're only in the first four verses of Jude. Dude, this book is like, never hear it in church, man.
David
Philippians 3:16. Nevertheless, whereto we have already attained, let us walk by the same rule. Let us mind the same thing. Brethren, be followers together of me and mark them which also so as ye have us for an ensample.
Matt
He's saying we're good examples. Mark the good examples.
David
For many walk of whom I have.
Matt
Told you four means because so. Because.
David
Because many walk of whom I have told you often now tell you, even weeping, that they are the enemies of the cross of Christ, whose end is destruction, whose God Is their belly whose. And whose glory is in their shame. Who mind earthly things.
Matt
Boom. So, dude, this is the thing. This is the thing Paul's saying, even weeping, I'm telling you, these dudes are the enemies not of Christ. It's subtle. It's subtle. I don't know if you want to pull it back up. It's subtle. These are not the enemies of Christ. They're the enemies of the cross of Christ, the sacrificial lifestyle, and everything that happens because of the cross of Christ. So what's different? Well, the difference is their God is their belly. They're all about earthly things. See how this topic keeps coming up? It keeps coming up, dude. Like, some people will, like, so called preach Jesus and they'll preach Christ or whatever, but not the cross of Christ, not the sacrificial lifestyle and that eternity is at stake and everything that happened at the cross and how that changes everything. But they kind of use Christ as a nice teacher. Maybe he's a prophet, he says nice things. And so they'll mingle in Christianity with, like, other stuff. But it doesn't go down like that. Like, we preach the cross of Christ in eternity, and we're not about our God is in our belly or our fleshly desires. See how it keeps coming back to that?
David
It's interesting because it. It almost makes them seem like they're not that awful. Like, they're not like outwardly awful people. This are. They're following Christ, but their. Their belly is overtaken. Their. Their actions.
Matt
Major topic.
David
So it's like, I. I think that makes them more dangerous because they. They might not even be aware.
Matt
Spurgeon used to say a half truth is a double lie. Like. Like there has to be some truth for people to get along with it. So you're totally right. Antichrist means another Christ. So he's going to kind of be like, Christ, dude, He's coming from within the church. I've said too much. All right, what's the next? We got some more passages.
David
Yeah, we have first Peter 5:12.
Matt
Well, I think those. The first Peter and then there's a Colossians. Those are just talking about the true grace of God. That's what I really wanted to bring out in that is that there's a fake grace and there's a true grace. And in both of those passages. What are those passages? We don't have to pull them up.
David
First Peter 5:12 and Colossians 1:6.
Matt
Yeah, both of those passages talk about the true grace of God, like, as if to tell us careful, because there's going to be a fake grace. And then what's the other? I think I had another note next to that one, too.
David
2Nd Corinthians 6:1. Revive not the grace of God in vain.
Matt
Yeah. Receive not.
David
Receive not. Sorry.
Matt
So. So there's this con. Receive not the grace of God in vain. What is that? 2 Corinthians 6. Yeah.
David
2 Corinthians 6:1.
Matt
So 2 Corinthians 6:1 says, receive not the grace of God in vain.
David
We then, as workers together with him, beseech you that you also that. That ye receive not the grace of God in vain.
Matt
Okay, so, like, we've all heard this phrase of, like, taking the Lord's name in vain. And people think that means, like, if you're swinging a hammer and you hit your thumb and you say gd, or you say whatever. And I'm not saying people should do that, but taking the Lord's name in vain means that you, like, take his name and it means nothing. You don't live according. You call yourself a Christian, you call yourself one with Christ, but you don't live accordingly. That's taking God's name in vain. Like, imagine if your wife, like, takes your name, right? Like, your wife takes your last name, and then she's not faithful to you. She's taken your name in vain. And that's what the Scripture is continuing to teach, too. Like, if we are going to take the Lord's name, we cannot take it in vain. We cannot take his grace in vain, which means meaningless. So we have to take this serious. Don't, like, take the grace of God serious. I think we're down to, like, the last.
David
We're down to solutions.
Matt
The solute. Yeah. Yeah. So the solution which Jude actually is going to get into at the end of the book, but there's no way we're making it to the end of the book today. We're just doing, like, verses one through four, and then we'll do a little bit more in Jude next week because he talks about fallen angels. So I know the dudes with, like, sweaty foreheads and twitchy palms are gonna get real excited for the Nephilim stuff that Jude gets into. But can we get it off of him? That's like, so uncle talking about him. But. So we'll get into that next week. But verses one through four. This is. What I'm saying is heavy, bro. This is heavy. So. So this would be like, my. Whenever I read all this stuff, and I just don't want to leave everybody like, oh, blah. No. Like, no, no, no. Here's the solution. Here's the solution. I know it's in Galatians, and I know it's about walk in the Spirit, so you don't fulfill the lust of the flesh.
David
Okay? So Galatians 5, 16, 17. It says this. I say, then walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.
Matt
Boom. So people who are like, oh, how do I not fulfill the lust of the flesh? I've been snorting oxycontins, and I really want to quit. And then you just try in your own willpower to, like, not snort oxycontins. I can tell you firsthand, it doesn't work like that. It doesn't work like that. You're going to try forever to quit snorting oxycontins. It doesn't work like that. The solution, according to scripture, is surrender your life to Christ, walk in the Spirit, and then you won't fulfill the lust of the flesh. But you could apply that to anything. Maybe you're, like, a normal person that doesn't snort oxycontins, but you have, like, whatever issues in your life as you try in your own strength to just stop it in your own willpower. Good luck. Good luck. Because that reminds me of, like, God's like, hey, Adam, you can have anything you want in the universe, just not that tree right there, right? Like, he's gonna go to the tree. Like, if you tell your kids, hey, we're going out for the night. But whatever you do, don't go in my top right dresser drawer. Like, the second you pull out, the kids are going in the top right dresser drawer. And it's the same thing we do with ourself, where we have, like, this sin or this lustful thing in our flesh that we want to stop. And so we just, oh, I got to stop. I got to stop. I got to stop in my own willpower. That's not the solution. According to scripture. In scripture, it's walk in the Spirit, which means progress, right? Like, they didn't have treadmills in that day. Like. Like, walking meant progressing. Get from A to B. Progress in the spirit be about the things of the spirit, and it'll. The things of the flesh will just lose their shine. Walk in the spirit so you don't fulfill the lust of the flesh. But I think the next verse is, like, hard.
David
For the flesh lust.
Matt
Can we just. Can you just say. Because instead of four.
David
Sorry.
Matt
No, I'm sorry. Because I keep Saying that. And David keeps laughing, man. I hate when he does that.
David
Because. What?
Matt
Yeah, yeah. He says. He says, walk in the spirit so you don't fulfill the lust of the flesh. Because.
David
Because for the lust for the flesh lusteth against the spirit and the spirit against the flesh. And these are contrary to. To one, these are contrary the one to the other. So that ye cannot do the things that ye would do.
Matt
You see what I'm saying? So like the, like we're made of spirit, soul and body, right? Like some people say the soul is the decider within us. You have the spiritual nature and you have this fleshly nature, this animal nature. So you have this animal nature that like, desires the same thing animals desire. We've talked about it before. Like when you hunt animals, you hunt them around their feeding habits and you hunt them around their sexual habits. Like, that's how you hunt animals. You hunt deer in the rut, you hunt turkeys in the spring when they're mating. And then you hunt them around feeders. And so like the spirit realm hunts us the same way, man. It's just we have other things more than just sexual food, appetite. We go into other appetites too. Money, drugs, like alcoholic, whatever, whatever. We have all these other things, but our animal nature, our flesh lust for those things and how we kill that off is we go after the things of the Spirit.
David
Galatians 6, 7. Be not deceived. God is not mocked. For whatsoever a man sth that shall he also reap.
Matt
That's what the people, the New Agers call so called karma. People say, oh, what do you think about karma? Like, the scripture is very plain that whatever you sow, that is what you will reap. People struggle with that, man. People are like always trying to get one up on somebody. Like, you're never getting one up on somebody ever. It's. It's not happening. Like, every person is going to reap exactly what they sow. I'm not saying that good people don't fall on hard times or whatever. I'm not getting into all that. I'm just saying the law of the land is that you, whatever you sow, that you will reap.
David
Because he that soweth to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption. But he that soweth to the spirit shall of the spirit reap life everlasting.
Matt
It's cut and dry, man. It's cut and dry. People are saying, I'm not doing anything bad. No, you're just sowing to the flesh like you've got all these hours and you're watching the TV shows like whatever's the thing right now? I don't know what's the thing that all the people are gonna steal the food from Walmart if they have food stamps or something. There's like that and then there's like the World Series and then there's the Kardashians are making the comeback and then there's like all this stuff. It's like oh no, it's not bad. And then yeah, but you're just sowing to the flesh, so take some of that time. And so to the spirit, man, so in prayer, so in the word of God, like so into these spiritual eternal things that you're going to have for eternity and that's how you're going to overcome. And I think that's a good place to end.
David
I love it. Any, any final words, Matt?
Matt
No, I just want to encourage people to like go hard after the kingdom of God, man. You get one shot on the earth. And the things that you're like loving in the natural realm right now, they're not that. I just want to be straight with you. They're not that cool. I know you're like, oh I have so many dollars, it's so cool. Or I have a big house or I have a really cool car or like oh I love all these TV shows I watch. It's so fun. No, not like that stuff is not that cool. And it's so fleeting and in the blink of an eye it's going to all be gone. And then you're going to step into the realm that lasts forever. You're going to step into the realm that lasts forever and you're going to feel so foolish if you spent all your time consumed with the things of this little 120 year cycle on the earth. Like that's it. Like that's it. So I'm just pumped for Jude. I want to encourage people to earnestly contend for the faith and watch out for fakers in church.
David
Sam.
Hosts: TopLobsta (Matt), Raven (David)
Date: November 4, 2025
In this episode, Matt and David take a deep dive into the Book of Jude with a central theme: Apostasy and the dangers of a "counterfeit church." The discussion is aimed at discerning truth from falsehood, exposing how insidious influences and fake beliefs have infiltrated Christianity throughout history and continue today. The hosts use scripture-heavy exploration to highlight the biblical warnings against complacency, worldliness, and self-serving interpretations of faith—especially concerning the prosperity gospel and abuse of grace.
Tone: Candid, passionate, sometimes humorous, but always earnest. Discussions appeal equally to conspiracy theorists and Bible students seeking deeper insight.
[01:01-06:42]
“If you’re just reading the Bible, you’ll be very conscious of this concept of staying the course. Like Jesus even says, ‘He that endures to the end will be saved.’” (Matt, 03:07)
[05:52-08:12]
Jude calls believers to "earnestly contend for the faith."
Comparison to Hebrews 2: Warnings are not just theoretical but vital (“give more earnest heed…”).
Laying hold on eternal life is not casual; it’s an intentional, lifelong struggle.
Neglect, not just outright rejection, can lead believers off course.
Quote:
“There’s not gonna be any casual people that end up in eternal life, man. Like, it’s a very intentional thing.” (Matt, 08:07)
[09:19-16:16]
[17:10-24:11]
Jude 1:4 warns of “certain men crept in unawares,” a warning about imposters inside, not outside, the church.
Turning “the grace of God into lasciviousness” is identified as a common corruption—abusing grace as a license to sin.
Fake grace vs. true grace is a recurring theme; grace empowers believers to overcome sin, not excuse it.
The danger is subtle, as imposters blend into the congregation.
Quote:
“This isn’t like Islam or Buddhism or Hindu, bro. This is crept in. It’s not out there. They’ve crept into the church.” (Matt, 18:12)
[20:35-24:01]
1 John 2 – “If any man loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.”
The hosts lament churches that emulate secular culture in order to "win the world," losing their identity in the process.
This “blending” leads to a meaningless, powerless Christianity.
Quote:
“Anywhere you see the Covenant people becoming more like the world, then you see a meaningless church. It’s just meaningless.” (Matt, 21:41)
[22:27-24:11]
1 John 2:18-19: Many antichrists have gone "out from us, but they were not of us."
The antichrist spirit is an insider threat.
Historical and biblical examples are given (Nehemiah, early Christianity under Rome) to underline Satan’s strategy: If he can’t destroy the church, he infiltrates and corrupts it from within.
Quote:
“The Antichrist, plural, went out from among the church… We’re just going straight Bible.” (Matt, 24:01)
[26:46-29:03]
2 Corinthians 11, Revelation 2 – False apostles appear as ministers of righteousness, echoing Satan’s ability to masquerade as an angel of light.
Commendation for those who test and expose false teachers; the Bible never endorses blind faith.
The true church is always a discernible remnant, not a compromised majority.
Quote:
“He applauded them and said, Good job. Those dudes were fakers… You didn’t have blind faith.” (Matt, 28:26)
[29:26-31:36]
Philippians 3: Enemies of Christ’s sacrificial lifestyle are more dangerous because their deviation is subtle.
Their “god is their belly”—earthly desires—distinguishing them from true followers.
Quote:
“These are not the enemies of Christ. They’re the enemies of the cross of Christ… Their god is their belly. They’re all about earthly things.” (Matt, 29:29)
[31:36-32:38]
[33:30-39:02]
Galatians 5–6: The antidote to the flesh and all worldly distractions is to "walk in the Spirit."
Overcoming sin isn’t about sheer willpower, but about surrender and spiritual progress.
Sowing to the flesh leads to corruption; sowing to the Spirit results in eternal life.
Quote:
“The solution, according to scripture, is surrender your life to Christ, walk in the Spirit, and then you won’t fulfill the lust of the flesh. But you could apply that to anything…” (Matt, 34:30)
[39:05-40:09]
Matt urges believers to give their full attention and affection to God’s kingdom, warning against wasting life’s brief span on earthly trappings.
Call to vigilance: “contend for the faith,” beware of counterfeit teachings and impulses, and invest in what lasts for eternity.
Quote:
“You get one shot on the earth. And the things that you’re like loving in the natural realm right now, they’re not that…I’m just pumped for Jude. I want to encourage people to earnestly contend for the faith and watch out for fakers in church.” (Matt, 39:05)

The episode vigorously challenges listeners to examine their faith, reject diluted or self-serving doctrines, and take seriously the warning signs of spiritual drift. The Book of Jude’s message is presented as both timely and timeless: beware the counterfeit church and “earnestly contend for the faith.” The hosts promise a deeper dive into “Nephilim” topics and Jude’s wilder references in their next installment.
For listeners seeking to go deeper:
Matt and David encourage everyone to personally revisit Jude, Hebrews, 1 John, and the referenced passages to see these warnings firsthand—“don’t just take our word for it.”
