Kevin
Foreign hey folks, it's Kevin. Listen, I was talking to a Risk fan the other day on Zoom. Her name's Veronica. And I said to her, listen, Veronica, the main reason I want to move to Thailand is to have a much lower cost of living. It's absolutely necessary for me at this point. And the thing is, what savings I do have is running out fast in terms of money. I'm racing against the clock this year. I said to Veronica, the move itself is going to be costly in certain ways and I'm just terrified of showing up in Thailand without any savings. But I'm also hesitant to talk about it too much on the podcast because we ask people for money for the show itself all the time and I'm worried that my own personal fundraising efforts might just get on listeners nerves. And Veronica said, fuck that. She said, kevin, we love the show and we love you. We want you to have this new journey and we know the show and your life are so in it interwoven. And so pitching in to help you embark on such a story worthy endeavor would be something I think a lot of Risk fans would want to do. So I was very thankful to Veronica. That was a very encouraging conversation. So, as you know, I'm putting together my eight week long online storytelling workshops I'm offering this spring and summer of 2025, starting one in mid April, one in mid May, one in June. But I also thought I should figure out something of value to those folks who don't want to take a big workshop. I wonder how many listeners would enjoy this, because I know I would. I can offer 45 minute personal zoom calls with listeners. You get on Zoom with me to hang out. We could have a friendly chat, or you can share a story with me and get my feedback, or you can have me tell you a story. Or we could record the stamps.com song together as a duet or recreate a sketch by the state. If you have friends and family who want to get on the call too, bring them. One of my favorite things in life is connecting with Risk fans. And ask anyone. I'm very, very easy to talk to. If you're shy, don't worry about it. I got you covered. So I thought how about it's $100 for one of these going away fundraiser Zoom calls with me. Or more than 100 for one of these. If you're feeling extra generous and you're able and we can brainstorm together. You can interview me, we can do one of our what's yous Story Icebreaker games together, whatever you want. It'll just be quality time with me personally. So if you'd like to support my fundraising efforts for building a safety net, a savings, so that I can move to Thailand in August without having a nervous breakdown, first, email me at kevinrisk-show.com if you're interested in either my 38 week long group online storytelling workshops that I'll be teaching all spring and summer, or if you're interested in one of these personal Zoom hangouts with me at $100 or more, or third option, if you just want to donate to the fundraising effort without a workshop or a Zoom hangout, you can email me about any of that@KevinRisk-Show.com and I can keep these Zoom hangouts going even in August and beyond. In 2025, I can be on early in the morning or late at night in Bangkok. So if you're not hearing this till the fall, the workshops in the United States time zones, those will be over. But come the fall, meeting me on zoom while I'm in Bangkok, that can still be happening. So thank you so much everyone. I am hugely grateful and I really do hope a lot of you want to do this. I really look forward to meeting as many of you as possible. Okay, that's the latest from me in this most insane and nerve wracking of years. I will say that in 15 years of creating this podcast in some really like flush times of great success and everything really flowing and all of the difficulties of the past five years, and of course all of my stories and all of my check ins, you really have, you really have seen and heard a life going through its ups and downs and I'm still incredibly hopeful and incredibly inspired and incredibly excited about this big move and all of the newness and the change and the exploration and discovery and the way that moving there will bring all kinds of new voices onto the podcast and all of that. But yeah, it's quite something to take in all the highs and lows and just nervousness that you've been able to witness from me over the years. But onward, onward we go. Once more into the breach. Thanks everyone. It.
