Former Presidential candidate and current Trump advisor Vivek Ramaswamy caused quite a stir within the MAGA movement when he degraded US culture, suggesting that Americans no longer value excellence and instead pursue mediocrity. As a result, he says,...

Establishment media sucks. August lighting so good luck bullshit we can't afford why fomenting this watching C as his jack off the medium speeds and jumps the medium and hits them head on. It's the Chimney Tour show.
Mike McCray
There's a big split in the right wing happening right now. It's good because it's something that would never happen under the Democrats because the Democrats are not allowed to ever ridicule their leadership or talk out of line. But the MAGA is and this is what's beauty. So remember when Trump said this about immigration?
Vivek Ramaswamy
For decades, this company has served the needs of American workers. It's time we had a federal government that does the same. The Buy and Hire American Order I'm about to sign will help protect workers and students like those of you in the audience today. This historic action declares that the policy of our government is to aggressively promote and use American made goods and to ensure that American labor is hired to do the job. Right now, widespread abuse in our immigration system is allowing American workers of all backgrounds to be replaced by workers brought in from other countries to fill the same job for sometimes less pay. This will stop.
Mike McCray
Oh, really?
Vivek Ramaswamy
American workers have long called for reforms to end these visa abuses.
Mike McCray
Okay?
Vivek Ramaswamy
Today their calls are being answered for the first time.
Mike McCray
Okay, so they're talking about. So there he is. He's saying one thing, but now the guys that he's got surrounding him, the billionaires like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy are saying the opposite. Cuz Trump was saying he's gonna protect American labor against visa abuses. Well, so there's this big fight online happening over the H1B vis. Now we just showed you Joe Biden's on the same page as Elon Musk and Vivek Wamaswamy. He did the same thing to truckers. He made it so that they can bring in foreign workers so they can drive trucks in America. And that's not because we have a shortage of truck drivers in America. That's because corporations who employ truck drivers want to pay them a lower wage. And so that's why immigration's happening like the way it's happening. And so Joe Biden, on his way out the door, we did his, did a video on it, gave the finger to the working class. And the finger is, screw you. We're lowering truckers wages by making the special visas available to guys who are going to come in here and drive trucks in America and drive your wages down. And that all started, by the way, with Jimmy Carter. So he's just like our friend Celente was saying, he was not the great guy that people think he was. We haven't had a great president in forever. So I don't even know when. So you got to go back to fdr maybe, but then if you're Japanese, you'd have a different idea. But anyway, right wing warfare pits big tech against MAGA over H1B visas. Now this is actually exciting for me to see that MAGA is pushing back against the Trump administration. I'm talking about the voters, the movement. Maga, you know, isn't Trump. MAGA is the people who put him in office. So the H1 go. You want to say something?
Eric Weinstein
Yeah. Okay. So I was looking at this today because I was trying to understand it, and I'm sure it all comes down to paying people less. But the thing, I thought that they were talking about Vivek, or this is how he put it, he could be lying.
Mike McCray
Well, let me, let me get to it. Let me get to it before. Before. Let's not, let's not do a spoiler. The H1B1 visa program allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupation. Specialty occupations. I guess truck driver is one of them. Particularly in the tech industry, discussions about reforming this program have intensified with some advocating for the removal of country specific caps on green cards to address extensive backlogs faced by applicants from countries including India. Okay, now you. Okay. So meanwhile, Musk, the world's wealthiest man, has benefited from the H1B program, both personally and professionally. He first came to the United states on a J1 academic visa that he says transitioned into an H1B. Tesla is also among the companies to rely on the program, having hired 724 H1B workers in 2023 alone. So instead of 724 engineer or high tech workers being hired at Tesla that are from America and American schools, they imported these people from other countries and the big reason is you want to pay them less. That's the big reason. But MAGA evangelists like Laura Loomer believe Musk's influence within Trump's circle serves his own interests. On Twitter, Loomer singled out Musk and his tech allies, including Box CEO Aaron Levy and PayPal Co founder Peter Thiel, suggesting that the new Doge initiative for government efficiency is just a cover for sending funds to Silicon Valley entrepreneurs. And so now here's what so Vivek. So Luber goes after Musk over this and Vivek decides to weigh in and listen to what Vivek has to say. The reason top tech companies often hire foreign born first generation engineers over Native Americans isn't because of an innate American IQ deficit, a lazy and wrong explanation. A key part of it. It's money. It's so they can pay them less. That's all this is about. A key part of it comes down to the C word culture. Now hold on to your. Because he's going to come. I don't know if you remember, but who's the blonde woman who said she would never vote for a. Oh, Ann Coulter. And Coulter said she would never vote for Vivek Swami because she would never vote for an Indian. And everybody's like, whoa. Well, here comes a key part of it comes down to the culture. Tough questions demand tough answers. And if we're really serious about fixing the problem, we have to confront the truth. Well, the truth is that we should pay for people to become engineers and then we should hire those people at our American made companies. That's the truth. We should. If we're low on high tech people, we should educate them here in our own goddamn country. That's the truth. That's not the truth. He's going to tell you. Yeah, he's going to say our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long. So he's shitting on American culture. I thought we were exceptional. We had a culture of American exceptionalism. No, no, we have a. We have a. We have a culture of American mediocrity. That's What? Vivek Wamaswami, who Ann Coulter said she would never vote for. Because he's Indian, that's why. And now he's here. He is shitting on our culture. This is really happening. The America First Chinese, they're supposed to be America Firsters, are now telling you the reason why we have to go get the smarty pants people to run our high tech is because our culture in America sucks. That's what he's saying.
Kurt Metzger
I guess that's what they taught him at Harvard and Yale.
Mike McCray
I guess that's what they taught him at Harvard.
Eric Weinstein
Well, you know, those schools also take mostly Indian and Asian. That's why they started doing the affirmative action stuff to block Asians. Well, Asian covers India too. But that's what the whole. So at the schools they're, they're purposely letting in at the start where he said when it starts young, where they're training the people.
Mike McCray
But here he is saying it's not just the colleges and the schools. He says so our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long. At least since the 90s and likely longer. That doesn't start in college, it starts young. Young. In caps. He puts caps. So our whole culture, a culture that celebrates the prom queen over the math Olympia championship. Oh. Or the jock over the valedictorian. Will not produce the best engineers. You son of a bitch. You. I thought we were America Firsters. This is America, suckers. That's why. And don't you feel like a sucker now that you. I think, I think MAGA is starting to feel that way because they're pushing back. Anyway. A culture that venerates Corey from Boy Meets World or Zach and Slay, by the way, that's the corporate world doing that.
Eric Weinstein
Right?
Mike McCray
That's the corporate world force feeding that shit down our throats. That's not our culture. That's the corporate culture, right? That's the corporate media culture owned by billionaires like you. And that's why they consolidated the media in 1996 from 50 giant media companies down to just six companies. So now every newspaper, every magazine, every radio show, every TV show, every move produced by one of six billionaire owned companies. It's run by people like you, Vivek. It's not run by regular people.
Kurt Metzger
So instead of giving opportunity to people here in America that we're going to go and ship in.
Mike McCray
Yeah. So instead of. So if he really.
Eric Weinstein
Too late for them, our people.
Mike McCray
Too late for our people. So they will not produce the best engine. So he's saying because we have television shows, because we have pop culture. That's why we don't have the best engineers. That is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever heard. But it's how he really thinks. He really doesn't think much of our culture. Fact. I know multiple sets of immigrant parents in the 90s who actively limited how much their kids could watch those TV shows precisely because they promoted mediocrity. You know what? I know lots of native born Americans who did the exact same thing. I know lots of people who limit their kids TV time, live with their kids, phone time limit. I know lots of parents who do that shit. He's pretending that's unique to just so Americans are shit and people from other countries. And he's making Ann Coulter look like a philosopher. Not a philosopher, a who predicts the future. What is that oracle? What is that oracle? He just an oracle.
Eric Weinstein
Oh, it's not psychic. She dated Dinesh D'Sousa. Sousa? Yeah, she learned.
Mike McCray
And their kids went on to become wildly successful STEM graduates.
Eric Weinstein
Oh, there's not enough women in that.
Mike McCray
So. Wow. So it's only if you're an immigrant. Americans. Yuck. Immigrants. Better. More movies like Whiplash. Fewer reruns of Friends. More math tutoring. Fewer sleepovers. More weekend science competitions. Fewer Saturday morning cartoons. More books. Less tv. More creating. Less chillin. More extracurriculars. Less hanging out at the mall. He really hates America.
Eric Weinstein
We're hanging out at the mall.
Mike McCray
What?
Eric Weinstein
How old are you?
Mike McCray
What do you. Nobody goes to the mall anymore.
Kurt Metzger
Malls are dead.
Mike McCray
Malls are hanging out. Malls have been dying for 30 years.
Eric Weinstein
The people go there because they have a job like, dude, that's crazy. He's a tech guy, isn't he?
Mike McCray
He's a tech guy. Most normal American parents look skeptically at those kinds of parents. Oh, okay.
Eric Weinstein
More Tiger Mom? Is that what this is?
Mike McCray
So. So the normal American parents, why aren't they producing more STEM graduates? Why aren't they producing. So they're. He's admitting. So now he's contradicting himself?
Kurt Metzger
Yes.
Mike McCray
So now he's trying to speak out of both sides of his mouth like a politician, a billionaire politician who made his money selling junk doing a pump and dump. More normal American kids view those kinds of kids with scorn. If you grow up aspiring to normalcy, normalcy is what you will achieve.
Eric Weinstein
Yes, I aspired to abnormalcy as a child and that's why I've achieved so much.
Mike McCray
Now close your eyes, Kurt, and visualize which families you knew in the 90s or even now, who raise their kids according to one model versus the other. Be brutally honest, normalcy doesn't cut it in a hyper competitive global market for technical talent. And if we pretend like it does, we'll have our asses handed to us by China. We're having our asses handed to us by China because they make our asses for us. Because they make all our asses now in China. Why? Because billionaires like you control our government, which gave a tax break for other billionaires to send our jobs over to China to make our asses.
Eric Weinstein
He's talking about our Sputnik moment. They didn't ship the jobs out to foreigners.
Mike McCray
That's right.
Eric Weinstein
Look what he's saying.
Mike McCray
So here we go. Here we go. Normalcy doesn't cut it in a hyper. This can be our Sputnik moment. What?
Eric Weinstein
Oh, the Soviets brought Indians in for that?
Mike McCray
We've awakened from slumber before and we can do it again. Trump's election hopefully marks the beginning of a new golden era in America, but only if our culture fully wakes up. So is this golden era. It's going to be all through tech, people being imported from India.
Eric Weinstein
It's going to be low. Oh, we're going to get a universal basic income that. Oh, we're going to get the same deal as the other thing.
Mike McCray
Oh, it's the same thing. So a culture that once again prioritizes achievement over normalcy, excellence over mediocrity, nerdiness over conformity, hard work over laziness. I thought we did. I thought we did have Steve Jobs. I thought Steve Jobs invented Apple and the iPhone and all that stuff. Though we had Bill Gates. I thought. What? What the. What are you effing talking about?
Eric Weinstein
Oh, he. Globally competitive is really. You can ignore all the rest of this crap, except for the one thing about being globally competitive. And I have friends from way back who are in tech. They all say the same thing. A, they don't care about America, global citizen. B, Americans want too much money to do not enough work when I could get an Indian on fiverr to do whatever.
Mike McCray
That's exactly right.
Eric Weinstein
It's kind of new, but let's cut the. Let's cut the shit, Vivek, because even my mediocre mind can handle this. What do you want to pay for the job?
Mike McCray
That's right.
Eric Weinstein
Because the only thing that matters is the money. You're.
Mike McCray
That's exactly. That's all that matters. That's all that matters. So let me finish his. This is him tweeting this Out. That's the work we have cut out for. The work we have cut out for us. You mean importing cheaper high tech labor so you could suppress the labor? Just like they're importing cheaper truck drivers. They're doing that right now. Joe Biden's doing that on his way out. And on your way in, you want to import cheaper tech workers. That's exactly what this is about. Tesla hired almost 800 foreign tech workers. That's the. In one year alone. One year alone. That's 800 tech workers that could be American. That's the work we have cut out for us. Rather than wallowing in victimhood, just wishing or legislating alternative hiring practices into existence. I'm confident we can do it. No, you're gonna. You're going to legislate hiring practices that benefit you and Tesla. Meaning? So you're doing the exact thing you're claiming that you don't want to do and that other people shouldn't do. That's exactly what you're doing. You're using the HB1 visa, the HB1 programmers to come in and suppress the wages. That's what this is all about. And if we don't have enough high tech people, we should spend some money of our. Our trillions of dollars we're spending every year on bombs and wars. And how about we spend it educating our own goddamn people? Oh, it's because it's not about that. It's about suppressing their wages. That's what it's about. And here Elon Musk says maybe this is helpful clarification. I'm referring to bringing in a. Via legal immigration. Yeah, because you get to set what the laws are for immigration. So you just say it's legal. The top 0.1% of engineering talent as being essential for America to keep winning. You know that's not what he's talking about.
Eric Weinstein
Oh, that came up. Came up with the sharpened doors on the Tesla truck. Yeah, Dick off with.
Mike McCray
This is like. This is like being Jokic or wembies of the world. To bringing in the best talent in the world to, to, to help your team, which is mostly Americans win the NBA thinking. So he's saying, look how the NBA does it. They bring in foreigners to help their whole day. Okay, okay. It's such a horrible analogy. Thinking of America as a pro sports team that has been winning for a long time and wants to keep winning is the right mental construct.
Eric Weinstein
Okay, wait, wait, wait, wait.
Mike McCray
You act like they haven't been doing this anyway. They. We Just showed you that in 2023, Tesla used the H1B visa program to bring in almost 800 high tech workers. Go ahead, you want to say something?
Eric Weinstein
So when they bring people in the NBA, those foreign, that 1%, they pay them.
Mike McCray
Yeah.
Eric Weinstein
Are they paying them illegal people wages? Yeah, I don't think they are.
Mike McCray
That's right. They're not. They're not. That's exactly great point, Kurt. They're not paying those guys from foreign countries who play in the NBA less than American stars.
Eric Weinstein
That's they're globally competitive somehow.
Mike McCray
Yeah. So here's what the autism capital says. So basically the right split into two. So this was a big fight and there's a whole big Laura Loomer thread to this. I'm going to get to in another segment. It's unbelievable. So she's calling this out and Elon Musk took her blue check away, took all her followers away and basically is censoring her. So they like free speech as long as you don't say shit about them.
Eric Weinstein
So everybody wants to be the new Israel, huh?
Mike McCray
So basically, so Autism Capital says, so basically the right split into two faction tech right and right right. And the tech right is like, hey, we need H1B visa people to do the jobs.
Jimmy Dore
And.
Mike McCray
And the right right was like, no, you need to hire Americans. And the tech right is like, you guys are retarded. And the right is like, well, you don't train us. And the tech right is like, you can't out train being retarded. And while all this was going on, we learned some people really don't like Indians. He says that's pretty much sums it up. That was. That's Elon Musk.
Eric Weinstein
Yeah, they're called Indians. You ever hear the caste system? Who do you think is coming over here for the tech jobs? The poor Indians.
Mike McCray
So this guy says Elon just told white Americans they are too dumb to work in stem. So he's forced to hire Indians and Asians. Remember, he's not American. He has no lineage or allegiance to this country. He is here to extract the wealth, nothing more. That has a hundred Congress, that has 128,000 likes and almost 4 million views. When I grabbed this. So that's the right. That's the right rights. So there's a. So in one sense this is a good thing because they're having this out in the open and MAGA gets to see exactly what they bought.
Eric Weinstein
Yeah, right.
Mike McCray
They get to see exactly. They bought a couple of fucking billionaires. You don't give A shit about you or your workers. In fact, they want to import workers so they could get them cheaper and they shit on your culture to do it. Two foreign. I think Vivek is. Is he. He's born here, right?
Kurt Metzger
Yes.
Mike McCray
His parents are immigrants, but his parents, he's first generation. And Ann Coulter. God damn it. I wish I had that video of her saying, I'll never vote for Vivek because I won't vote for an Indian for president. Which she said that in my head. But here's Elon now. He's.
Eric Weinstein
You knew she banged Dinesh.
Mike McCray
You. Yes, he's from South Africa. Yeah. So Elon's from South Africa.
Eric Weinstein
Yeah.
Mike McCray
So here's what DU dissident says. Notice Vivek has essentially the same contempt for American culture as the Davos. People to the billionaire class are all useless eaters. We exist only to serve them. To Elon, Vivek, Klaus Schwab, Bill Gates, we're all the same. And to us they should be all the same.
Eric Weinstein
I like him mentioning China a lot, like, because that's India's enemy. So I like when like rich billionaires with ties to foreign countries want to drag us into their competitions.
Mike McCray
Uh huh.
Eric Weinstein
Because obviously China's not competition. They make our viruses and our stuff.
Mike McCray
So I'm gonna, I'm gonna show you that Vivek Ramaswamy is full of shit. And how am I gonna do that? Well, I'm gonna bring in Eric Weinstein, who I invited on the show today to come explain this to us, but he's a very busy man and he couldn't, he couldn't make it. I get it. He. So he retweets him and he says, I love this. Meaning he doesn't really love this. He says, I love this. Do you want to fill an entire stadium debating this with me? I'm so game. Meaning, let's debate this, Vivek, if that's what you really think is happening, if you really think it's our culture. And we need to import. So now they're saying we need to import unskilled labor. Right. So they could pick. They could work our farms and drive our trucks and work our construction. That we have to. We don't. Because we're not making enough babies. That's what Bill Clinton says and that's what all the billionaires say. We're not making a baby, so we got to bring in all this labor. Even though the income inequality is unbelievable right now, even though workers have the smallest piece of the pie, they've had since the time of the pharaohs. This is worse than the Gilded Age, what's happening right now with workers in America. And they want to import even cheaper labor because Americans, well, they're not willing to do those jobs. Of course they are. Americans are willing to do, they'll do any job as long as they're paid. But what you want to do is bring in basically slave labor to work our farms, construction, all that stuff, because then they can't unionize and you can always have the threat of kicking them out of the country. And then you get them cheap and they can't organize. And that's exactly what's going on. Because unions are starting to get their legs back again in America and they're starting to organize. And immediately the billionaires opened the border and flooded the country with cheap, desperate labor. And so now we're fighting amongst each other instead of joining together to fight against billionaires like Elon Vivek. And Vivek. So he says we don't know each other. Meaning Eric and vivek. I'm a US born STEM PhD with some background in this issue in the sciences. Dance with me. Meaning? Come on, let's debate this. You want to debate it? He does not want to debate it. You know why? Well, here, I'll show you. Spoiler alert. Skilled Immigration is a political football. It is an evil system designed by a conspiracy from our science complex that brings us great people to displace our own great people which is supported by great people and fought by great people. All the major voices I see on this so far are some superposition of wrong and not wrong. Note to my friends with the incoming administration. It will tear you apart if you don't know where it came from and what it is designed to do. Word to the wise, it is designed to tear good people apart. Don't fall for it. He's trying to warn Vivek. He's trying to warn Elon. Don't fall for this bullshit and don't do, don't import high tech workers. Don't do it. This is a scam. This is a conspiracy brought to you by what? A cabal of rich people. And here. And how do I know it? He wrote a paper on it. This is the paper that he wrote. How and why government, universities and industry create domestic labor shortages of scientists and high tech workers. By who? Eric Weinstein. And he's one of the smartest PhD tech guys in the world and he's born right here in the United States.
Eric Weinstein
And he's very pro capitalist. People might criticize him about that, but he's telling. That's a thing that anybody that knows anything about academia knows they've done for years. Like people are fighting over getting into schools because it's just like real estate. It's mostly foreign ownership. Then you're going to watch right wingers complain about spying from China.
Mike McCray
Right?
Eric Weinstein
You think they did it in a balloon?
Mike McCray
No. So our friend Apple Lamps, he, he, he summarized this paper. So this paper, which is very long, he summarized it for us. He said. Weinstein argues that long term labor shortages in market economies are not natural, but are created when employers or government agencies interfere with the wage mechanism. He cites Michael S. Teitelbaum's 1990 testimony which suggests that claims of labor shortages are often cries for labor subsidies to avoid market driven wage increases. It's all about money. It's all about suppressing wages by the billionaire class. The 1990s and the flooded market for the scientists and engineers the 1990s saw a glut in the market for scientists and engineers, largely due to an increase in foreign students and postdoctoral researchers. This influx allowed employers to save on labor costs by decreasing wages and benefits. The Immigration act of 1990 was passed in response to predictions by the National Science foundation of a looming shortage of scientists and engineers. However, these predictions were later found out to be bullshit.
Eric Weinstein
Oh, you don't say.
Mike McCray
And the act led to a surge in immigration, further flooding the market. The NSF scarcity projects so the NSF projections were criticized for focusing solely on the supply side of the labor market without considering demand. This approach was seen as flawed by many economists and labor market experts.
Eric Weinstein
Who sponsors them? Who's the sponsor of the National Science Foundation? How much you want to bet it's a billionaire you've heard of?
Mike McCray
That's right. Somebody may be Andreessen. Who knows? Who knows? The NSF's Real Shortage Study Internal NSF documents revealed that the real concern was not a shortage, but the potential for rising wages. The NSF sounds like a conspiracy. Sounds like a collusion. Price fixing sounds like price fixing in a scam to screw American workers. The most educated American workers isn't that they're all workers.
Eric Weinstein
It's not just the people. Yeah, that really is so.
Mike McCray
Doesn't matter how educated you are. You're all just a cog in a wheel to the machine. Okay, so the NSF sought to suppress wage increases by encouraging the influx of foreign students and workers. The three traditional policy level stakeholders, Government, university and the industry. These stakeholders, rather than competing independently, often Collaborated to control the labor market. The Government University Industry Roundtable. GUIR was formed to address shared interests, often at the expense of domestic workers. So they're all. Guess exactly what I've told you. When they. When, Jimmy, when do the people who really run things? When they have their secret meetings. It's not a secret. They're having the meetings right out in the open. One of the big meetings is called a session of Congress. When they get together with all these people and write laws to screw you, meaning American workers. So there it is.
Eric Weinstein
Korea don't get paid too good. How come they're not ruling the world?
Mike McCray
The Government University Industry Roundtable. Isn't that something? Further irregularities. The NSF's Policy Research and Analysis Division PRA was accused of suppressing internal criticism and manipulating data to support the narrative of a labor shortage. Sounds like big. Sounds like Big Pharma is running the nsf. Right? Conclusion. The scientists or knowledge worker as forgotten stakeholders. The paper concludes that the interests of working scientists and knowledge workers were often overlooked in favor of the agendas of government, universities and industry. And let's remember, government works for industry. So it's really just industry and universities who are funded by industry and government, which. Exactly. It's one big circle jerk. So it's really just one entity. This had led to a collapse in the market for junior scientists and a breach of their social contract between young scientists and. And their employers. Weinstein's analysis suggests that the alleged shortages of scientists and high tech workers were artificially created to suppress wages and labor costs. Benefiting who? Employers at the expense of domestic workers and the broader economy. So screw the workers. Screw the economy of the United States. Because these people are not loyal to a country. This is from network in 1974. There are no countries. There are no citizens. There are only corporations and the international transfer of dollars. These companies and corporations and billionaires and governments are not loyal to their countries. They're loyal to their economic owners and economic interests which have no borders. Bill Gates doesn't give. Bill Gates. Jeff Bezos Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, Vivek Wemyss. They do not give a shit about the United States. They give a shit about corporate profits. So anyway, so just one last. This is just a quip from that Newsweek article. Musk's approach to immigration. Effectively a hardline stance on illegal immigration combined with a liberal view of letting in high skilled foreign workers is at odds with the cultural and economic protectionism espoused by those in the MAGA movement, including Stephen Miller, who was in Trump's first White House, who is set to return to the White House with his own restrictionist immigration policies in hand. So hopefully there'll be a big fight and Stephen Miller will win this fight over Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy. And Vivek Ramaswamy is not going to debate Eric Weinstein. And if he does get the box, get a box of popcorn, because it's going to be good. Because Eric Weinstein is not a scammer. He didn't make his money off doing a pump and dump stock scheme by pretending he had a cure for Alzheimer's, which is what Vivek Ramaswamy did. You know that story, right?
Eric Weinstein
Tech is like a real kind of crypto. Yeah, he really doge that.
Mike McCray
So that's what's happening right now. Yeah, so that's what's happening right now. And this would never happen if a Democrat was elected. The Democrats didn't say shit about Joe Biden doing this to truck drivers on his way out. What he railroad workers, what he did to the railroad workers, what he's doing to the truck drivers. This is what the Democrats are doing. And there's no Democrat movement. Bernie Sanders didn't get his followers. AOC didn't get her 12 million Twitter followers to put pressure on Joe Biden to stop nothing. No discussion. Democrats are a cult. And at least right now, the MAGA movement is not. The MAGA movement is actually stepping up and holding Donald Trump and his cabinet feet to the fire on something that's important. So I think this is actually great, and I think that we're going to. We're going to talk about what Elon Musk did to Laura Loomer right now, but because he cut off her free speech, he's screwing her over. That's what, that's how they react. If you get a little power, that's how. That's how billionaires react. They try to shut you down, just like Bill Gates wanted to shut you down, just like Big Pharma wanted to shut you down. Moderna Pfizer. And they did it through the FBI. They did it through because they own the government, the Deep State. They're in bed with big tech, they're in bed with Big Pharma, they're in bed with the War Machine and Wall street, and they don't work for the president. We already found that out because Chuck Schumer told us that the Deep State works for who? He won't tell us, but he told us that they don't work for the President. We know that you thought the FBI, the CIA, the nsa, you thought they all worked for the President. They don't. They work for someone else. They work for people like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy and Jeff Bezos and Peter Thiel and Bill Gates and a handful of banking interests. That's who they really work for. All course in Israel. Okay. So that's what's happening right now. This is exciting. I think it's good. This is like the MAGA people are pushing back hard and I think it's great.
Eric Weinstein
Again. China's going to hand us our ass now how is that possible when China has been not only. I would say isolationist. Jimmy. Of not letting immigrants come in. Right.
Mike McCray
Yeah.
Eric Weinstein
How can CCP is a communist government. But they're about to eat our ass. They're about to hand us our ass.
Mike McCray
Yeah, that's right.
Eric Weinstein
It's so far.
Mike McCray
That's right. They don't.
Eric Weinstein
Yeah.
Mike McCray
So their culture produces so. But so they don't have sitcoms, I guess. Is that so he's saying that the communist China culture is far superior than the United States culture for the. Since. I don't know, since the 80s. So that's. I don't know. Is that 40 years ago? Is that how long ago that was?
Eric Weinstein
I don't know. Whenever they first kicked off the idea of destroying America for world government when they saw investing heavily in China. China doesn't have. You'll hear like oh, China's about to collapse because they don't have enough immigration.
Mike McCray
Yeah, yeah, I got.
Eric Weinstein
They're sending Chinese here, aren't they?
Mike McCray
So China.
Eric Weinstein
India wants that sweet nectar.
Mike McCray
So they're. So they're going to send. So China's going to hand us our ass but they're going to do without immigrants. They're going to do it with.
Eric Weinstein
Without as communists.
Mike McCray
As communists. So Communists are going to hand us.
Eric Weinstein
Like it's really competitive because in this.
Mike McCray
Because they're right. How are communists have a more competitive economy than the United States capitalists? How could that possibly be Vivek? Or is this just a bunch of billionaires trying to use the laws and rig the system so they can suppress our wages because they don't actually give a shit about this country. That's what it seems like to me and that's what it seems like to maga. And I say go maga.
Eric Weinstein
You know what the Chinese economy like their big problem was back when I was out there was all the Chinese people there had a real estate boom and Everybody had invested in real estate, you know, like regular people there. And it makes me laugh because I'm like, who the hell here could afford to invest in real estate that isn't a millionaire?
Mike McCray
Right.
Eric Weinstein
Or a billionaire? Like the communist country.
Mike McCray
Communist kind of problems they have are.
Eric Weinstein
Oh, I bought this property and now it might like that doesn't even come up here.
Kurt Metzger
Well, this point of view of Vivek and Elon, that's not going to rebuild the middle class. That's going to. The middle class is going to disappear.
Mike McCray
He does he. They're not out there saying, hey, let's invest in our education system and educate our people so we can be. That's not what they're saying. They're not saying that at all. They're not saying. If they were. They're not. They could be saying both things. That's. Let's say, hey, let's invest in education and hire on people, but in the short term, we'll let in a few of these people. That's not what they're saying. Their answer is to just let these people in and suppress our wages. And Eric Weinstein sniffed those guys out a long time ago.
Eric Weinstein
Yeah. If you get caught up in the stupid race identity, which is amazing for Vivek to be bringing that up. Amazing. Because Laura Loomer, in fairness, did. She shouldn't be taken off Twitter. She said a moronic thing about the America's white European. I don't care if she said that. That's a distraction from the issue, which is they want your money lowered. So forget all the identity bullshit and getting hung up on that. It's. It's always been a distraction from people naturally come together about getting paid. People of all races.
Mike McCray
Yeah, it's really astonishing always.
Eric Weinstein
But so how do you split them up? You have to come up with some primal. Every time where it's like everybody versus the other color. It really ain't about Indians or nothing.
Mike McCray
I.
Eric Weinstein
Hey, okay, how about this? Vivek, you can bring in all the top Indian talent. You got to pay them as if they were born here. How about that?
Mike McCray
How about that? Oh, no. Then I guess we'd be able to find some engineers here. Yeah, yeah. So I just want to remind you of what's happening. So populism is what got Trump elected. Populism, which was also big in 1891 when they started the People's Party to go against both parties. Now, a lot of people said that Trump was on the outs with both parties and that's why he was a Populist. But then he surrounds himself with Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswambi, a couple of billionaires who have no interest in workers in America. And this is from Thomas Frank's book, the People Know. And this is how the establishment puts down populism. He says our thought leaders relate to populism not so much as scholars, but as privileged class putting down a challenge to themselves. Okay, so I'm going to read you one more part. So they did this movement, and it caught out across the whole country. And it was called a populist movement, a people's party. And they were going to stand up and what did they want? Populists were those who supported a specific list of reforms designed to take power away from the plutocrats while advancing what they called the rights and needs, the interests and welfare of the people. In the same issue of the paper that premiered the word, the nonconformist spelled out the grievances of the People's Party. It protested poverty, unbearable debt, monopoly and corruption. It looked forward to the day when these were ended by the political actions of the people themselves. The industrial forces have made a stand, the paper declared. The demands of the toilers for right and justice were crystallized in a strong new party. In fact, the populist movement against the two major parties would turn out to be even more momentous than the grandiose passage implied. Populism was one of the first in the long line of political efforts to tame the capitalist system. Up until that moment in 1891, mainstream politicians in America had by and large taken the virtues of that system for granted. Society's winners won because they were better people. They had prevailed in the rational and supremely fair contest called free enterprise. The populists would blast those smug assumptions to pieces, forcing the country to acknowledge that ordinary Americans who were just as worthy as bankers or railroad barons were being ruined by an economic system that in fact answered to no moral laws. This was in 1891. Yeah, it is now 2024. It could be written today.
Eric Weinstein
They answered in no moral laws. So when you hear about far flung ideas like the Illuminati, that's what I think it is. A bunch of rich people with generational wealth that decided they're a different species than you.
Mike McCray

Max Blumenthal
Thank you.
Mike McCray
Okay.
Max Blumenthal
The eyes are the window to the soul.
Mike McCray
That's right. So I brought you on because you tweeted this out how they're. They're what they call Balkanizing, which means they're splitting up Syria. And you know, usually when there's a civil war, the winning side takes over the country. That's not what's happening. They're breaking it up. Thanks to Syria's liberation, the plan for its Balkanization and recolonization is well underway. So basically Israel is Yoko Ono and Syria is the Beatles. Just so you know. Okay. And this is how they're breaking it up. So this part. So what, this called lost regime territory, what does that mean? Max, do you want to explain this map at all?
Max Blumenthal
Yeah, it's hard, it's. It's hard to actually decipher it because it's a Bloomberg map. So they're not giving you the full picture. Syria's a large. Large parts of Syria are militarily Occupied by invading forces by Turkey to the north. They using their proxy forces by the US which is in pink east of the Euphrates River. That's where the oil fields and gas fields in Syria are that fed its economy. It's also where its richest soil is. And so that's where the breadbasket of Syria is. It's as if a foreign country, like some powerful foreign power was occupying Nebraska and Kansas and then telling us, no, you can't have your corn. What would that do to the US Economy?
Mike McCray
So there was a food crisis that's right here, right?
Max Blumenthal
Yeah.
Mike McCray
Okay.
Max Blumenthal
And they irrigate through the Euphrates River. And Syria was, has been under sanctions since the dirty war. Well, let's go back. We can go back to 2011, 2012. A dirty war on Syria began after there were some protests calling for political reforms. The us, Turkey, NATO, the Gulf states, they dumped in billions of dollars of weapons into so called opposition groups which were led by the Al Qaeda affiliate in Syria called Javet Al Nusra. And Turkey was the main backer, but the US was pumping in something like $13 billion over the whole period. And the whole point was to break Syria up. And Israel was sitting back, not necessarily sitting back, they were actually participating, but not as openly as the other states were. And it was a divide and conquer strategy. Take as much of Syria's resources as possible and divide and weaken it so it can't contest Israel, which was already occupying the Syrian Golan. And Syria was really the last Arab state after Iraq was toppled and Libya were toppled that still supported Palestinian resistance. So they wanted to weaken that as well destroy its alliance with Iran. Iran was using Syria to send supplies and weapons to its ally in Lebanon, Hezbollah, which was defending Lebanon against Israel. So this gives you an idea of why they wanted to Balkanize it. And now this is the final. This is the product that we have today after the collapse of the Syrian government, which since the end of that dirty war, was under the most ruthless sanctions regime in the world and was simply unable to trade in dollars. It was cut off from the world economy. It couldn't pay for irrigation equipment, so most of the population was falling below the poverty line. The Syrian lira was worthless. And so it was only a matter of time, actually. And now what? Basically what took place is the US had been occupying the northeast of Syria, that pink area which had starved its economy. It said it was there to defeat isis, but it's really there just to defeat Syria and to take on Iran, the two real enemies of isis. Then if you move to the left.
Mike McCray
So let me just say so when they asked Trump, why are you leaving troops in Syria? He was leaving them here. And this is where they make the food and have the oil. Yeah.
Max Blumenthal
And Trump tried to pull them out. And the Joint Chiefs, the generals just said no. And the CIA said no. And they started accusing Trump even more intensely of being a Russian puppet. Then after Assad fell, Trump said, we have no business in Syria. And that's when the Pentagon announced that they didn't just have 900 troops there, they have 2,000. And those troops are working hand in glove with something called the Syrian Democratic Forces, which are just a Kurdish group that was named that by the gen. By a general. And so the Kurds are the US proxy forces there. It's all about keeping Syria divided and weakened. And then if you look at that kind of greenish, or is it turquoise or what would you call it? Taupe? I don't know what here, what, the color.
Eric Weinstein
That.
Max Blumenthal
And the one to the left even further. That's it. Yeah, that's Turkey. That, that's what Turkey has cut into Kurdish territory there and slaughtered a lot of Kurds in the process. Then if you move further left.
Mike McCray
So the United States and the Kurds are here. This hit says Turkey. This is how we're splitting up Syria.
Max Blumenthal
Yeah. And it says sna, Turkish backed sna, that's the Syrian National Army. But what it really is is it's the refuse of the jihadist groups that the CIA and NATO and the Gulf states like Qatar were supporting. Saudi Arabia were supporting them, and Turkey just adopted them as mercenaries. And they've called it the Syrian national army. But it's basically Turkish mercenaries. They don't exactly have the best interests of Syria in mind. And then purple.
Mike McCray
And this is Al Qaeda. It's called.
Max Blumenthal
That's Al Qaeda.
Mike McCray
This is Al Qaeda. They have the capital, which is Damascus. They have homes. And this is, this is all run by Al Qaeda people who attacked us on 911 and that we're funding and in bed with. Go ahead.
Max Blumenthal
So this was, this was originally, they just held on to a province called Idlib, and they took it in 2015. And this was a coalition called Jabet Fatal Sham, but was really a cover for Al Qaeda. And the most powerful group, as I mentioned, was Jabet al Nusra. That's the local Al Qaeda group headed by someone known as Muhammad Al Jolani, who is now the ruler of Syria, although no one elected him. And they had this little province and that in that province they kicked out all the Christians at gunpoint, gave many of their homes to Uyghur Muslims from western China who had been brought in through Turkey by Erdogan to set up their little colony, their little Islamist colony there. They kicked out the Druze population, another religious minority, at gunpoint. Forced them, some of them were forced to convert or be killed. It was a spectacle of theocracy. Women were executed for adultery. You know, a little kind of Saudi Wahhabi theocracy was set up in a NATO carve out of it. The most secular state, not just in the Arab world, but the most secular state in the Middle East. A more secular state and more pluralistic than Israel. That's I'm referring to Syria, the Assad government. And so as their was collapsing, the military's getting paid like seven. The soldiers get like seven bucks a week at most that they're just on their last legs. This group called hts, which is the rebranding of Al Qaeda, which was getting clear NATO support storms in to Aleppo, the northernmost city in, in Syria that's a major population center and just takes it without a fight. And then they keep moving south through Homs, which you see there, all the way, all the way to Damascus. The Syrian army melts away and they are now in power. Hts, which we're told is former Al Qaeda, they're.
Mike McCray
They're Al Qaeda.
Max Blumenthal
Ahmed Al Jelani is the leader. He puts on a three piece suit. When he used to wear fatigues, he actually used. This is someone, I mean, if we want to talk about Jelani, who emerged out of the US prison in Iraq for Al Qaeda members, members of Al Qaeda in Mesopotamia during the Iraq insurgency. He left there in like 2004. There are rumors that he was actually recruited by the Americans at that point and starts trying to prepare the insurgency in Syria. And Jawlani just appointed as his intelligence chief. This is the intelligence chief of Syria who's going to meet with all the foreign intelligence chiefs and deal with the CIA and Brussels and everyone else, NATO. He was the key figure importing weapons from Al Qaeda and Mesopotamia in Iraq into Syria. He was Al Qaeda, one of Al Qaeda's key figures in the Middle east and is sanctioned by almost every NATO state and the United nations. Personally sanctioned. And he's now the intelligence chief. It's just Al Qaeda in three piece suits and they control that purple area. And it's the perfect scenario because for all of the imperialist powers, because Iraq, Iran, sorry, Iran and Russia have now been the most powerful allies of Syria have been forced to leave. Russia has two military bases on the Syrian coast which are in that kind of yellowish area. And they may. It looks like they're gonna. They may lose them and have to move to Libya as part of a deal with Turkey and the US and then Iran has completely left because they didn't want to lose thousands more men after this giant confrontation with Israel that they've been having defending an army that doesn't want to fight. So they've left. And without any alliances and with an Al Qaeda government in power that can't possibly put up a fight, whose main enemy is other Syrians, Israel storms in. Which you can see at the bottom is where it says Israeli troops edged further. This is such a euphemism, into the Golan Heights and continue to operate in southern Syrian towns, Golden Heights.
Mike McCray
And they. Which they illegally occupy.
Max Blumenthal
With the Blessing, Israel's taken 450 kilometers of new Syrian territory, including Mount Hermon, which is the highest point in Syria. It's so high that right now it's blanketed in snow and you can ski on it, which gives Israel the perfect vantage point to attack the rest of Syria. You can see into Damascus from Mount Hermon. Israel now has that. They violated the UN Plan that prevented Israel from going into Syria. Greater Israel has expanded massively. They brought, like, fanatical religious nationalist rabbis to bless the new land. They're talking about building new colonies there. And the new government in Syria didn't even fire a single bullet against them. And Israel's moving deeper and deeper into Syria as the US Is retrenching its presence and Turkey is taking more territory in the north. So it's basically a divided, weakened, Balkanized state that is being recolonized, because, as we know, Syria, prior to its independence, was a colony of the same imperialist powers that are now dividing it up.
Mike McCray
So it's being brought. So it's. You got Israel taken over there. You got Al Qaeda in the purple. You got Turkey up here. You got the United States and the Kurds over here. And we don't know exactly what the. Who's controlling the yellow part, but I'm gonna guess Israel and the United States and.
Max Blumenthal
Perfect. And a perfect breeding ground for the resurgence of ISIS and whatever Al Qaeda wants to do to Europe or to Lebanon.
Mike McCray
That's right. You got to remember ISIS is Israel and Al Qaeda is the United States. That's. That's what I say. Do you. Would you. Would you have a. Would you agree with that?
Max Blumenthal
I mean, this is. This is the thesis of my book the Management of Savagery is that the US has always used these forces to attack its geopolitical foes. And then when the blowback comes in the form of something like 9, 11 for example, the US then represses its own population and announces a so called war on terror to de democratize the country in favor of the national security state. And so we're seeing the continuation and acceleration of that process. There's no way instability is not going to flow out of Syria. And if you pay close attention to of what's happening in Syria right now, religious minorities are being slaughtered on the west coast of Latakia. Alawites are being slaughtered, they're, they're the shrines of their holiest imam, teachers Shakes are being vandalized and there are revenge killings where anyone who is accused of being part of the security apparatus of the former government are just being killed in extrajudicial fashion in the streets, often on camera, shot in the head. Others are being humiliated on camera and they are out in the streets protesting. And HTS is bringing in their goon squads and firing at these protesters or firing in the air. Christians are out in the streets of Damascus protesting because we've saw, we've seen large Christmas tree displays be burned down not just by, not by Syrian members of the new HTS government, but by foreign fighters, foreign fanatics who think that Syria isn't even really a country for its people. It's Islamic land. Uyghurs are burning down Christmas trees and so Christians are out protesting. We don't know how that will turn out, but it's a horrible scenario. And finally this new government is being welcomed by the United States and London. They're meeting openly with British Foreign office officials. The UK's top Middle East Foreign Office official had a friendly open meeting with Mohammed Al Jelani. Same with the Barbara Leaf from the State Department met with Jelani and said she had a fruitful meeting and the next thing she did is remove a $10 million bounty from his head. Why? Here's why. It's very simple. Jelani said he will be their puppet and he will not resist the US or Israeli occupation of Syria as long as he can establish his Sunni supremacist sectarian rule and commit awful atrocities and re establish Gulag archipelago across Syria for his own purposes. The US and UK and the west are fine to sit back and watch because all they care about is protecting Israel and protecting their own occupation and their own theft of Syria's oil.
Mike McCray
So here's one more 454 kilometer season, two weeks. Quite the pace. Israel. A few people in Moscow may be wondering, what's the secret to avoiding sanctions while expanding. While expanding territory? What's the secret? Why isn't Israel being sanctioned? They're expanding their. Well, I don't know, maybe if you had videotapes of people doing things that they weren't supposed to be doing, like the Mossad does. So they have seized 454km of Syrian territory advancing since the fall of Assad. Israel's captured. Look at this. This is the last five days. So this is all again. The terrorists are the United States and Israel. And every war that has happened from Iraq to Libya to Syria to Ukraine has been because of Israel and the United States, certainly Afghanistan. And now we're. We're helping again. We're bombing Yemen again. Hey, become a premium member. Go to jimmy dorecomedy.com sign up. It's the most affordable premium program in the business. Podcast Summary: The Jimmy Dore Show – "Vivek SH*TS On American Culture To Push More Immigration!"
Release Date: December 30, 2024
Overview
In this episode of The Jimmy Dore Show, host Jimmy Dore, alongside co-host Mike McCray and guests Kurt Metzger and Eric Weinstein, engages in a robust discussion critiquing Vivek Ramaswamy's stance on American culture and immigration policies. The conversation delves into the complexities of the H1B visa program, the influence of elite billionaires on labor markets, and the broader implications for American workers and culture. Additionally, award-winning journalist Max Blumenthal joins to analyze the geopolitical turmoil in Syria.
Discussion on H1B Visa Program
The episode opens with a critical examination of Vivek Ramaswamy's statements regarding the H1B visa program. Mike McCray highlights Ramaswamy's "Buy and Hire American Order," emphasizing his intent to prioritize American-made goods and labor.
Comparison with Joe Biden’s Policies
Mike contrasts Ramaswamy’s approach with President Joe Biden’s immigration policies, accusing Biden of facilitating foreign labor imports to suppress domestic wages, particularly in sectors like trucking.
Claims of Wage Suppression
The hosts argue that the influx of foreign workers via H1B visas leads to wage suppression for American workers, suggesting that policies favoring immigration are designed to keep wages low.
Debate on American Culture
A significant portion of the discussion centers on Vivek Ramaswamy’s critique of American culture, accusing it of veneration of mediocrity over excellence, which supposedly hampers the development of top-tier engineers and scientists.
Challenges to Ramaswamy’s Claims
Eric Weinstein and Kurt Metzger challenge these assertions, questioning the validity of blaming cultural factors for the perceived lack of domestic STEM talent. They argue that access to education and generational attitudes play more substantial roles.
Eric Weinstein [09:11]: "I guess that's what they taught him at Harvard and Yale."
Kurt Metzger [09:33]: "Guess exactly what I've told you."
Discussion on Education and Talent Development
The conversation shifts to the importance of investing in domestic education systems to cultivate local talent rather than relying on foreign imports.
MAGA’s Stance on Immigration
The hosts discuss the current split within the right-wing, highlighting the MAGA movement's pushback against traditional Republican approaches, particularly regarding immigration and labor policies.
Critique of Democratic Policies
Jimmy Dore and co-hosts criticize the Democratic Party for not addressing labor issues effectively, contrasting it with the MAGA movement's efforts to hold figures like Trump accountable.
Influence of Billionaires
A recurring theme is the influence of billionaires like Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy on government policies, particularly in tech and immigration, arguing that their actions prioritize corporate profits over American workers.
Syria’s Balkanization and Foreign Influence
Max Blumenthal provides an in-depth analysis of Syria's current geopolitical landscape, illustrating how external powers like the US, Turkey, and Israel have fragmented the country to exploit its resources and weaken its governance.
Impact of Foreign Occupation
Blumenthal discusses the severe economic and social consequences of foreign occupation, including sanctions, poverty, and the manipulation of labor markets.
Fallout and Future Implications
The conversation emphasizes that the instability in Syria is a deliberate outcome of foreign interference, leading to potential resurgence of extremist groups and further regional destabilization.
Summarizing the Struggle Against Elite Influence
Mike McCray concludes by reiterating the episode's central theme: the battle between American workers and elite billionaires who manipulate policies to serve corporate interests at the expense of the general populace.
Call to Action
The hosts urge listeners to support movements that prioritize domestic workers, critiquing both major political parties for failing to address these core issues effectively.
Mike McCray [01:35]: "The H1B visa program allows US companies to employ foreign workers in specialty occupations."
Mike McCray [02:58]: "Joe Biden, on his way out the door, gave the finger to the working class."
Mike McCray [09:15]: "He says our American culture has venerated mediocrity over excellence for way too long."
Mike McCray [16:17]: "You're using the H1B visa to suppress our wages. That's what it's all about."
Max Blumenthal [45:30]: "Syria's a large country militarily occupied by invading forces by Turkey to the north."
Max Blumenthal [52:52]: "They've created a divided, weakened, Balkanized state that is being recolonized."
Mike McCray [39:29]: "How about you pay them as if they were born here?"
Conclusion
This episode of The Jimmy Dore Show provides a fervent critique of current immigration policies and the influence of elite billionaires on labor markets and American culture. Through incisive discussions and expert analysis from Max Blumenthal, the show underscores the perceived threats to American workers and sovereignty posed by unchecked immigration and foreign influence. The hosts advocate for prioritizing domestic education and labor practices to empower American workers and resist the manipulation by corporate interests.
