This week I am joined by a woman I have known for almost a decade and who I consider one of the wisest people in my world. Kay Manby has lived more chapters than most of us will in a lifetime. A young marriage that did not survive. Eight years raising three children alone. A second marriage to the love of her life. And then watching that love, Jim, go through cancer. What Kay has built from that loss is extraordinary. She trained as a yoga teacher in her sixties, taught women in probation, qigong, became a celebrant who has sat beside the dying and written the words spoken at their funerals. She talks in this episode about fear as a driver rather than an enemy, about grief taking the ground out from under you, and about a stranger in a taxi who once told her every new day is a blank piece of paper. We talk about her five one Manifestor profile and what it means to work in bursts rather than constantly. About amateur dramatics at nearly seventy and the buzz of doing the thing that terrifies you. And about her simple, powerful message for anyone listening. Notice beauty everywhere. Love generously. Live gently. Laugh often. This is a conversation to come back to again and again.Find KayWebsite: https://www.lovekay.co.uk/Podcast: The K Manby Podcast : https://www.lovekay.co.uk/podcastInstagram: @lovekayuk Join the Rebels in the Joy RebellionKay is one of the wonderful women inside the Joy Rebellion. The Lionsgate Portal MeditationThe final part in Ali's three part series on dreaming again. This episode is a guided meditation, recorded a few years ago for Ali's Devoted mastermind, and returned to every year for the Lionsgate portal. Where the last two episodes were about the practical work, the telescope, the compass, head, heart, soul, self, this one hands it over to the heart. No thinking, no figuring it out, just opening up and letting the images, ideas and whispers come through in their own time.Ali releases this on the 7th of August so it's ready for when the Lionsgate portal is it's most powerful on the 8th. The energy runs through to the New Moon in Leo on the 12th, so use it once, or come back to it every day through that window, whichever feels right. You can do this lying down, sitting, walking, or resting. (Just not while driving.)How to use it Place a hand on your heart if that helps you drop in. Let go of trying to force a vision, this isn't about picturing what you've already planned, it's about letting your heart show you something new. If nothing comes during the meditation itself, don't worry, the ideas often land later. In the shower, on the walk home, right as you're falling asleep.Joy Rebellion Close If dreaming again is where you're at, this is exactly the kind of work Ali leads members through inside the Joy Rebellion, all year round, not just under a Lionsgate portal. → THE JOY REBELLIONhttps://www.alimortimer.com/

As we continue towards the Lionsgate portal - here is your preparation for one of the most powerfully energetic portals for manifesting your dreams. This week Ali talks about giving herself permission to dream again, especially at the point in life where so much of the original dream has already come true. She shares the process she uses to build a new dream from scratch, the telescope and the compass she walks every dream through before she acts on it: head, heart, soul, self. She also talks about her dad's 90th birthday, what he told her about happiness at ninety, and why she's letting herself get properly delusional about what comes next, ahead of the Lionsgate portal on the 8th of the 8th.Journal Prompts: The Telescope and The Compass Pull these out for your own journal this week. One question, one simple step, for each point. The Telescope Look down the telescope at your own life. If you could teleport into it exactly as you want it, what would you see? Write it without editing yourself. Pin on pinterest with delusion.Head What does your head think when you look at that vision? Write down the first thought, supportive or resistant, without judging it. What beliefs need rebelieving.Heart Sit with the vision until you feel something. Where in your body do you feel it? Name the feeling, don't explain it. Feel the fear and know you are going to do it anyway.Soul Ask yourself, and wait. What does my soul already know, what does it want to share with me, what do I need to forgive, let go and know I am worthy of receiving? Write down whatever comes, even if it's just a word.Self Based on everything above, what's one small action, not the whole plan, just the next honest step?Joy Rebellion If this episode landed for you, this is exactly the kind of work Ali walks members through inside the Joy Rebellion, live, every week. Come and dream out loud with a room full of women doing the same thing. → Join THE JOY REBELLION https://www.alimortimer.com/

This week Ali steps away from the 'Rebel' interview series to share something raw and real. A conversation with a Brilliance client about her fear of confrontation. A near miss on the motorway. A hard conversation . And three new JOY codes that came out of all of it.In this episode:Why so many women, especially women who are married, running businesses or raising children, spend their energy keeping the peace around them, only to end up at war within themselvesUsing Human Design to understand why conflict lands so hard for some of us (the undefined solar plexus, explained through the bubble analogy)The story: a scorching Friday drive home, a property handover crisis, a near collision with a lorry, and the flood of feeling that followedCode 1: comparison isn't always the thief of joy, sometimes it shows you exactly what you want more ofCode 2: why asking for space before a hard conversation isn't avoidance, it's respectCode 3: confrontation only exists when you bring provocation to the table. Bring calm instead, and there's just conversationThe sailor and the harbour: why coming to rest after high seas can feel harder than the storm itself, and why that's not a sign anything's wrongWhat happened when Ali and James finally had the conversation, and the bigger realisation waiting on the other side of itMentioned in this episode:Human Design: find out yours free here:Join the Joy Rebellion membership here : £22/month or £222/yearCALM: buy the book here (visualisation, nervous system, calm as a practice)Coming next week: part two of the mini series. Ali takes you through her own dreaming and blueprinting process, ahead of the Lionsgate portal on 8/8.The answer is always joy. Love always, Ali xhttps://www.alimortimer.com/

This week I am continuing my summer series, sitting down with the brilliant women of the Joy Rebellion to share their stories. And this conversation is such a beautiful one.Claire Louise has been part of the Joy Rebellion and Joy in HD™ over the past year, and her story is one of the most beautiful I have heard. A childhood spent feeling like she did not quite fit. A life that looked successful from the outside, the career, the marriage, the family, while something kept growing quietly disconnected underneath. And then a diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis that became, in her words, her body's way of saying we cannot keep living like this.We talk about her discovery of Human Design and the moment she finally understood her own 3/6 profile. About iridescence, the phenomenon where a cloud holds every colour all along and simply needs the light to shift to reveal it. That is the whole philosophy behind her work now, helping women see that they were never broken and never needed fixing. Just a different light. We talk about trust without certainty. About clarity coming from movement, not from waiting until everything makes sense. And about her grandmother, rainbows, and the silver linings she has learned to find inside the hardest situations. If you have ever felt like you have drifted from who you really are, this episode is for you.Find Claire LouiseInstagram: @clairelouise.iridescenceJoy RebellionThis is exactly the kind of story that lives inside the Joy Rebellion every single week. A powerful addition to the Joy Rebel Summer series. Jacoline, Feng Shui practitioner and the voice behind the return to self work, joins me to explain something that changed how I think about elevation and growth. She calls it the mindset ceiling. The idea that when we are trying to shift or elevate our identity, we cannot simply leap to the next level. We have to first restabilise the environment beneath us, because that environment is what creates the floor that lets us push beyond the ceiling we have unknowingly built for ourselves. We talk about cycle nine and the rising of mature, wiser feminine energy. About the question underneath all of it, who am I without my business, without my success, without wife, without mother. And about trust. Jacoline's line, a bird does not trust the branch it sits on, it trusts its wings, is one I remember from my own days of remembering who I was in the darkness.A beautiful, brief reminder that returning to yourself is not about becoming someone new. It is about trusting what is already there.Find JacolineOn Instagram: @fengshuiformulaContact Jacky : Jacoline Vascotto at jacolinevascotto70@gmail.comJoy RebellionThis conversation sits right at the heart of what we explore inside the Joy Rebellion every week, trusting yourself enough to take up space again. This episode starts with a shark jumping over a kayak. And honestly, it only gets better from there!Trudi joins me from Australia to share a story about labels, about a lifetime spent wearing them, daughter, dancer, business owner, mother, and slowly discovering that underneath every one of them was simply her. We talk about her son Gibson, born early and unexpected after she and her husband had been told they would likely never conceive, and the journey of understanding neurodivergence that came alongside raising him.We talk about being told her whole life that quiet and compliant was the safest way to be, and about finally deciding she no longer wants that. About discovering Human Design and what it means to be a two four, someone who only truly sees her own brilliance reflected back by the people around her. And about the moment last year when her body, quite literally, put her on her backside and forced her to stop. That stop became kayaking. The kayaking became a shark. And the shark became the wake up call that led her back to herself, to her poetry, and to the beginning of Strump Art and Kids Without Labels, the platform she is now building to support other parents walking a similar path. This is a conversation about asking for more, even when life already looks good. About filling your own well instead of pouring from an empty cup. And about rocking your own boat on purpose.Find TrudiInstagram: @strumpart_trudireid Instagram: @kidswithoutlabelsJoy RebellionTrudi found her way back to herself inside the Joy Rebellion, surrounded by women who hold up a mirror and tell the truth with love. This week's guest built something extraordinary out of the worst thing that ever happened to her. Leesa lost her mum to lung cancer within nine months, a diagnosis nobody saw coming. In the depths of that grief, unable to sleep, on a rising dose of medication that left her numb, she started walking. Just walking and talking with a friend, at every hour, because it was the only thing that helped. That walking group grew. And grew. Until it became Rant and Ramble, a movement of women across the country who gather to walk, to talk, to dance without a drink in hand, and to feel less alone. We talk about the coffee raves that started with twenty people and grew to five hundred. About the retreats that began because Leesa needed somewhere to switch her own brain off. About the power of sound healing and reiki for a woman who walked in convinced it was nonsense. And about the incredible collaboration coming this July with Davina McCall and the Begin Again podcast. This is a conversation about grief, about community, and about what happens when you turn your pain into something that helps thousands of other women feel that bit of joy.Find LeesaWebsite: Www.rantandramble.co.ukInstagram: @rantandrambleuk and @leesacollinge New virtual world launching this week, with all retreats, coffee rave dates and tickets in one place.Joy RebellionIf Leesa's story has reminded you how powerful it is to not do this alone, come and find your community in the Joy Rebellion. → Be a JOY Rebel!https://www.alimortimer.com/

I'm recording this one from my armchair. Which feels entirely appropriate, because what I'm about to share with you started in a moment of complete surrender. Not a boardroom, not a strategy session, not a list of goals. Just me, trusting that things would work out.I've just come back from the most incredible weekend at Manifest in Newcastle (Canny Crystals and Mart Tweedy's extraordinary event) and it sent me straight back to the story that became the foundation of everything I now teach about magic manifesting. The story of an Apple Watch. This episode is a mini masterclass. I'm giving you the complete five A formula, the one I've run as a Magic Manifesting Week multiple times, the one that has seen women in The Joy Rebellion manifest freedom funds, dream jobs, Caribbean trips, visibility they never thought possible, and daughters making football teams. It works. I also share the science that backs it up completely. The reticular activating system, Tara Swart's work on the mind, the Hawkins Scale of Consciousness. This isn't woo woo. This is how your brain actually works.Come and get comfortable. This one's for you.Favourite quotes from this episode"When you get so fixated on the delivery being in a specific way at a certain time, it doesn't always work. But sometimes the universe can blow your fucking mind and it comes out of left field and gives it to you in a way you never expected.""Our minds are our greatest asset. They can either fire you up or they can fuck you up. And you get to choose.""Those who are certain of the outcome can wait and wait without anxiety." A Course in Miracles"I don't have to sell anything. I just have to share my stories of my life. And that is the sell.""It's like placing the order with Apple or Amazon. Place the order. This week Ali is sharing something close to her heart. Tom, her eldest son, has just finished his final A-level, and with it, an entire chapter of life has come to a close. In this episode she takes you into the lay-by on the side of the road where she had to pull over because the tears wouldn't stop. The full circle moment. The rush of pride, grief, love and terror all at once. And from that place she asks a question that changes everything: why would you want to regulate this emotion? This is an episode about emotions and why feeling them fully, all of them, is not something to be managed or controlled but something to be honoured. About the midlife transition so many women are standing in right now. About what it really means when the children start to fly. About why Ali refuses to call it empty nesting and what she's calling it instead. If you're in this season, approaching it, or supporting someone who is, this one is for you.In This EpisodeThe moment Tom walked out of school for the last time and what it stirred up in AliWhy "emotional regulation" is a phrase Ali takes issue with and what she thinks it costs usThe dam analogy and what really happens when we suppress instead of feelWhy Ali pulled over in a lay-by and what happened when she let it all come throughRoller coasters versus teacups and which one Ali is always going to chooseThe bungee ski jump in Austria, the boys cheering at the bottom, and what fear really feels like when you walk straight into itWhy Ali refuses the phrase "empty nest" and what she's renaming this chapterJoy Nesting. And why this era might be the most exciting one yetFiji 1999, the dreams James and Ali cast on that beach, and what it means to have actually built themThe question every woman in midlife needs to ask herself right nowWhy this is your time. Just On You.Quotes From This Episode"Why would you want to regulate that feeling? I have never felt so alive.""Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving completely safe and preserved and pristine. We're going to be skidding up to those pearly gates, totally spent, totally exhilarated, going — holy fck, what a ride."*"Nothing is wrong. Your feelings are finally getting their turn.""We're not the people who go to the fairground and ride in the teacups. We're the people who run for the roller coaster.""Joy Nesting.
