Join the I recording the other day. Oh, really? He, like, literally was like on the mic. It's interesting how Ciara was saying, like, I call you, I text you. I try to be your friend. Oh, hey, Ron. Oh, my God. Get all up on that mic, Ron. Hey, can you not lick them?
Jared Freid
Oh, my.
Jordana Abraham
He's so cute.
Jared Freid
Hi, Ron.
Jordana Abraham
Can you hear me? I'm. I'm married. I'm a good person. Stop it. Hello and welcome back to the Friday Feels episode of the UF podcast. I'm Jordana Abraham.
Jared Freid
And I am Jared Freed. It is so good to be back here with you, Jordana. How are you? What's going on?
Jordana Abraham
Am I feeling this Friday feeling? I'm feeling a little bit anxious.
Jared Freid
Why are you anxious?
Jordana Abraham
Because this morning, or I would say this afternoon, I took an afternoon train into the city.
Jared Freid
Okay.
Jordana Abraham
And the lot was full.
Jared Freid
Ooh, that's a tough moment.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah. So I made my own spot.
Jared Freid
Made your own spot?
Jordana Abraham
I made my own spot. There was. I mean, like, I had to get into the city for several recordings. And I guess when you go and you take the 12.
Jared Freid
I have a podcast.
Jordana Abraham
It's an emergency.
Jared Freid
Pregnant. I need to talk about the car in the lot.
Jordana Abraham
I needed to talk about the summer.
Jared Freid
Wes Wilson will get away with this.
Jordana Abraham
You know how there's like, MD plates. There should be like a podcast, you know, just to make sure. Absolutely.
Jared Freid
So I parted that diarrhea CEO guy.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, yeah.
Jared Freid
He said that he had two drinks and he couldn't podcast for days to no ends.
Jordana Abraham
Artists, working people in America.
Jared Freid
That's us.
Jordana Abraham
Clap for the podcasters at 7pm yeah. So I'm a little gonna start doing
Jared Freid
pots and pans for you.
Jordana Abraham
That I guess I'm gonna get a ticket or my car is gonna get towed or something, I feel. But I don't.
Jared Freid
When you park there, you were just like, I guess, goodbye to the car.
Jordana Abraham
Well, it's like, I have to make. I have to make the train.
Jared Freid
Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
And the Like, I'm circling and I'm looking for a spot, and then like, the train's get about to come, so I need to park. And I'm kind of like, these people, they didn't make enough spots. I have a parking permit. I'm making my own.
Jared Freid
Well, the permit helps you. That gives you something.
Jordana Abraham
I have a permit, like, if I. That should be. That should entitle me to park there. Right. My fault. There's no spots.
Jared Freid
You're in a small town. Like, yeah, what.
Jordana Abraham
Where are. Who are these people?
Jared Freid
You know, like, who. Yeah. Who's towing a car that, like, lives there to go to work?
Jordana Abraham
Like, yeah, I'm the most privileged person who's parking there. I'm going in at the 12pm train to go record a podcast.
Jared Freid
There is a little piece of this. Where do you feel you move to the suburbs? That you're like a. Like, I think the change of, like, Manhattan to the suburbs is like this, like, idea that, like, my tax money is going to local stuff.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
So, like, you're like, I'm a. I'm. I'm a taxpayer in this town. For them to, like, take me away.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
Is like, I would almost be, like, upset. Like, they are kind of.
Jordana Abraham
And I.
Jared Freid
The police should be working for you, is my point.
Jordana Abraham
That's kind of when I was think. Because I was going through this in my head, I was like, oh, what would someone, like, are they going to ticket me? Are they going to look. Look and see that I parked? I'm like, I didn't block anyone. I parked. I just like, made a little extra spot.
Jared Freid
Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
I think I'm kind of like, it's up if they. I mean, they haven't given me a ticket yet. We'll find out when I go home tonight.
Jared Freid
But my dad did this. He parked in a loading zone and he was just like, did they give me. If I die, I die. It was kind of like, I got to go.
Jordana Abraham
What am I going to do? There's not going to be more spots if I take a later train.
Jared Freid
No, I'm. I'm with you.
Jordana Abraham
I.
Jared Freid
Were you blocking anyone? Were you in the way of anything?
Jordana Abraham
No, that's what I'm saying. I just made the spot.
Jared Freid
Whose problem am I? Nobody.
Jordana Abraham
I don't think so. But I don't know if, like, I don't know how aggressive the people, the, the parking people in my town are.
Jared Freid
Well, we're about to find out. And I will pray for you, as I think the whole listenership should. I know and on YouTube. Yeah. Like, listen, pray for Jordana. Thank you. I mean, hashtag Jordana Strong. Hashtag no tickets today.
Jordana Abraham
Seriously, everyone's. All these people are taking public transportation back to. Back to pre covered levels I've seen.
Jared Freid
So it's really busy.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah. A lot of people on the train.
Jared Freid
It's also a beautiful day.
Jordana Abraham
I always warn Mike, if we go in together, I'm like, we might not be able to sit together. We have to make sure we sit together.
Jared Freid
He's like, like the Titanic.
Jordana Abraham
And he's like, I don't know. Like, we'll figure it out. Like, we'll just. I'll just take whatever seat I see about.
Jared Freid
Whoever gets a seat gets one.
Jordana Abraham
He's like every man. He's like every man for himself. I'm like, no, you better tell that person. This is. I'm with my wife. Please move to the other side.
Jared Freid
My wife needs to sit. She's got a podcast to do today.
Jordana Abraham
She has a podcast too. She needs to go over all the list of chores I need to do this weekend. This is our time.
Jared Freid
This is what my mom would say on a train. Like, he needs his break. He has a podcast.
Jordana Abraham
Like, anyway, that's how I'm feeling. I'm feeling. I'll let you know. I'll let you all the listeners know tomorrow, as in next week when. Okay. How this worked out for me.
Jared Freid
Well, I'm feeling clean.
Jordana Abraham
Okay.
Jared Freid
I just got my teeth cleaned.
Jordana Abraham
Plug city.
Jared Freid
You can see Dr. Lauren Becker, that celebrity dentist.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah. I mean, you come all the way to New York to see her, I
Jared Freid
would imagine she's good. And I got a good report that my gums are growing back.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, wow.
Jared Freid
From all the flossing I'm doing in an electric toothbrush.
Jordana Abraham
Where did they go?
Jared Freid
I guess they were decaying. I'm an old man. Jordana, do you have any craps? No.
Jordana Abraham
Did you have braces as a kid?
Jared Freid
I had braces.
Jordana Abraham
You had braces?
Jared Freid
Of course. Oh, you didn't have braces?
Jordana Abraham
No. I was one of eight children. My mom was. My mom gave the first two braces and then she was like, the rest of your teeth are fine.
Jared Freid
You're all good if they're good.
Jordana Abraham
Naomi, second in law. My oldest brother Adam both got braces.
Jared Freid
Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
And then the rest of us magically just didn't need them.
Jared Freid
Just didn't need them.
Jordana Abraham
No.
Jared Freid
That could have gone in a bad direction, cuz you have nice teeth.
Jordana Abraham
Well, I had. I got my own braces. I had to pay for my own braces. That's how self made I am.
Jared Freid
That sounds horrific.
Jordana Abraham
My own braces with my lisp before all Hosting this podcast before no parking spot part.
Jared Freid
Your own braces. Rags to Rich's tail.
Jordana Abraham
Seriously, they should write. But put this in my biopic.
Jared Freid
That. That's the hard. That's like the harsh part of the movie where they're showing how hard it was. Yeah. Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
Did you have a. Did you have different color, like the colorful braces? That was big when I was.
Jared Freid
I did the ones where they were like. So you. They don't stick out as much. They would always tell you like, get silver. It's like you don't see them and then you'd be like, that didn't help at all.
Jordana Abraham
Did you get them out for your bar mitzvah?
Jared Freid
No, I think I still had.
Jordana Abraham
You still had. You kept them in.
Jared Freid
Wow. Yeah, I'm not that.
Jordana Abraham
That's a confident move.
Jared Freid
Yeah, I wasn't that.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, that's like a rich.
Jared Freid
That's a rich guy.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, yeah, I guess take them off
Jared Freid
for the bar mitzvah. I haven't put on That's.
Jordana Abraham
I didn't even think of that.
Jared Freid
That big money, 15 years old.
Jordana Abraham
That makes sense. How are you doing?
Jared Freid
So I got my teeth cleaned and on the way in, there was a woman with a dog in the elevator. Okay. And she looks like she might listen to this podcast. Okay. So maybe she looks. Hear this? No, but she got in the elevator with her dog. And then I get in the elevator, you know, going up to Dr. Lauren Becker to get a cleaning, and she. The dog starts like sniffing around my leg and like is like on my foot. And the dog owner goes. She goes, whatever the dog's at. I don't know what the dog. She was like, come on, stop it. Some people don't like that. Some people don't like.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, wow.
Jared Freid
That to me, Dagger is total. This is how crazy these dog people are. Like, some people don't like that.
Jordana Abraham
I may have said that.
Jared Freid
Some people said that to some. Why is it me that's the problem? Hey, we don't do that to people. Is the real. Some people don't like that.
Jordana Abraham
It makes it. Oh, some people do like that.
Jared Freid
Then how do I know if you even like me touching your dog too? Yeah, there's this whole thing of like, well, ask for permission to touch the dog to pet the dog. Maybe you shouldn't. Now it's. Some people don't like that.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah, I understand. I understand.
Jared Freid
Skewed the idea that like, now I'm this big fucking dickhead.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
Cruella Deville. I will say skin it for my jacket.
Jordana Abraham
I've been on the other side. Right. I walk my, I walk Ron around the neighborhood. There's not as many people as New York City. But whenever he sees someone else on the street, there's not like that, isn't like that crowded. He'll see another person or another dog on the street. He will make a run for it to go run a leash. Some people are like, oh, like let me pet the dog, like whatever. And then some people are like moving to the other side of the street and so I have said to run, run. Some people don't like that.
Jared Freid
How about you have the leash and you yank on it and you go no, Ron.
Jordana Abraham
Well some people are like, oh, like let him.
Jared Freid
But it's going to start with no, then I will receive him.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah. I mean if you're a competent parent, which I'm not.
Jared Freid
Right. This is my point. Yeah, you admit it. At least I get you to say I'm incompetent. Yes, I'm incompetent.
Jordana Abraham
I have no control over this.
Jared Freid
Some people don't like it. It's. Is putting it on you quite a way to put it on.
Jordana Abraham
But I do kind of think when the person moves to the other side of the street like you're a dog. I'm like, how could. Who couldn't let this.
Jared Freid
And I'm sitting there looking at him like I just don't want to. I don't have my foot.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
I'm in an elevator. Yeah, some people don't like this. Oh yeah, Mr. Grumpy.
Jordana Abraham
I say that whenever. Yeah, now it's my life. Everyone must hate me talking so much.
Jared Freid
I'm a big piece of.
Jordana Abraham
Whenever anyone comes over my house, Ron just jumps on them starting and then.
Jared Freid
Hey, some people don't like that.
Jordana Abraham
Some people don't like to just have their feet, ankles bitten off.
Jared Freid
Some people don't like a big animal jumping on them.
Jordana Abraham
Some people, I think most people, I am the problem. I am the pro. I will admit it.
Jared Freid
You dog people, really?
Jordana Abraham
No, it's cuz I have no control over him and I'm.
Jared Freid
That's the point. Well, it's like. Yeah, but that's rarely said. Hey, sorry I'm a horrible owner. I, I didn't train it well. Yeah, I'm not disciplined. That's what she should have said.
Jordana Abraham
I should say that to everyone.
Jared Freid
Hey dog, I'm sorry I'm a bad owner.
Jordana Abraham
I, I do say that sometimes when I'm, like, trying to pull him and the. And he' Be like. He really doesn't listen to me. I'm sorry.
Jared Freid
Right. That would be to. Some people don't like this. All right, well, I digress.
Jordana Abraham
Sometimes I say, this dog is walking me to lighten the mood.
Jared Freid
Right. See, that's fine. I like that. I. I just don't think I'll never win this battle. Dog. People are continuously going to talk about how some people don't like this and not everyone likes a dog. I like dogs.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
I love them. I love them.
Jordana Abraham
We'll find out.
Jared Freid
Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
Fourth of July weekend. I'm excited. Find out just how much you like
Jared Freid
me and Rob hanging out all day long.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
I have a book out.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
It's called Walking Red Flag. Go buy it, please. I'm doing shows. Speaking of. I'm coming to.
Jordana Abraham
Come to the house.
Jared Freid
Coming.
Jordana Abraham
Coming in.
Jared Freid
I am going to be in Cleveland before I'm there. So I'm going to be in Cleveland. The men.
Jordana Abraham
The.
Jared Freid
The. The. The. The Hamptons of the Midwest. So I'm going to be in Cleveland. Then I'm coming to West Hampton Beach. Doral. I'm going to be in Miami. Doral, which is like, Doral.
Jordana Abraham
That's how you say it.
Jared Freid
Doral, Florida.
Jordana Abraham
I always called it Doral. Of course. I have no idea how to say any. I learned.
Jared Freid
Tell it to Mike. He went to Miami.
Jordana Abraham
I have learned how to pronounce so many words. Yeah.
Jared Freid
Via this.
Jordana Abraham
Via you. You're touring the country. I. There's been so many words I've been saying wrong in my head for so long. I never say it out loud. I've never had an opportunity to say. I've seen it written.
Jared Freid
Yeah. And I have to say it because I have to go meet these people. I have to meet these animals.
Jordana Abraham
There's so many cities where, like, I've seen them written and I just. In my head, you know, like, there's. Sometimes they're just in your head. Like, that's how you say it in your head.
Jared Freid
Right.
Jordana Abraham
But then you pronounce it, and I'm like, wow, my head has been wrong for, like, 20 years.
Jared Freid
Right. We had it with Tempe.
Jordana Abraham
Yes.
Jared Freid
Tempa La Jolla, famously.
Jordana Abraham
Yes. That's one. A lot of people mess up.
Jared Freid
A lot of people mess it up. I'm in Mashantucket, Connecticut.
Jordana Abraham
Mashantucket.
Jared Freid
That's where Fox was. Is Portland, Maine. I'm coming then Huntington, New York. I'm coming in the fall to your area.
Jordana Abraham
I will be There.
Jared Freid
See the set get better.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, yeah. I'll get to see the West Hampton
Jared Freid
one and then more finished product. So those are the. Though the. The dates I'm on the road, I never stop. I never, you know, the.
Jordana Abraham
The working man in America.
Jared Freid
Well, the quest to be a great comedian continues. That's the.
Jordana Abraham
I think you're already there. Already there.
Jared Freid
Thank you. I try. I'm trying. You know, who knows?
Jordana Abraham
I mean, do you feel like this is your year? I feel like.
Jared Freid
I feel like it could be my year. There's things happening in the works that are very exciting. The book is exciting. The special coming out in the fall. I think the special is. Could be a game changer.
Jordana Abraham
I.
Jared Freid
But I say that and I'm like, I don't know what I want to be changed. Like, I.
Jordana Abraham
Nothing.
Jared Freid
Nothing.
Jordana Abraham
Right. You're already there.
Jared Freid
I'm already. I've already arrived.
Jordana Abraham
Should we do an intro? Like, I was a best selling.
Jared Freid
Okay, so let's do. Let's put this on the show. By now. I'll find out if I'm a New York Times bestseller.
Jordana Abraham
Yes, sir. Do you want to go. Do you want to manifest it just so you are.
Jared Freid
Let's do like, in the. Michael Scott, the Office, they, like, did both versions. So let's do a version.
Jordana Abraham
Okay, we'll do both.
Jared Freid
We'll do both.
Jordana Abraham
It's like. Remember that. What was that award thing where we had to. We had to record an acceptance speech?
Jared Freid
I think it was the Webbies or something.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah, it was like. It was like everyone who was nominated had to record an acceptance speech before they found out the one. And so we've done it like three times. We've never won, but we've had to record. They. It's like. It's almost like torture.
Jared Freid
So stupid, right? Thanking them for award. We knew we weren't going to win, right? It's like all these people are telling us for us and we were like, not really doing it.
Jordana Abraham
Telling a person who's like, being broken up with to record their, like, wedding
Jared Freid
vows just in case we might use them. So. Okay, let's record both versions.
Jordana Abraham
All right.
Jared Freid
Okay, let's. This is me. I've. We're going to keep all this in.
Jordana Abraham
Okay? You get to hear both.
Jared Freid
I have made the New York Times best.
Jordana Abraham
You are officially a New York Times. Are you going for number one New York Times bestseller or just New York Times?
Jared Freid
There's no other number?
Jordana Abraham
No, there.
Jared Freid
Is there?
Jordana Abraham
The New York Times bestseller list is like the top. If you're on you're on the best sellers. If you make like the top, like 11.
Jared Freid
11 top 11 books. Somebody's rich parents made sure that number
Jordana Abraham
one New York Times bestseller is like a different league.
Jared Freid
You're not gonna. You probably won't get that.
Jordana Abraham
That's much harder to get.
Jared Freid
What do you might. Thank you. Okay, so this is me winning this on the New York Times best.
Jordana Abraham
I. I was not in. I was not number one. I like number like 11 and 13. I just made it.
Jared Freid
Just made it. I am number 11. This is me celebrating.
Jordana Abraham
But you're still a New York times bestseller.
Jared Freid
Number 11. I got it. Thanks a lot, everybody. Okay, now here's my.
Jordana Abraham
Maybe you'll get number one. I don't want you to be disappointed if you don't get number one.
Jared Freid
Well, here's my not getting it. Hey, everybody. We got the numbers back and I didn't even make the 11 top 11 books. I didn't even make the 11. I think a workbook is on there.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
And a coloring book. But we tried. Guess life isn't going to turn around for old, dear old Uncle J train.
Jordana Abraham
I mean, number one. I'll give you context for the Our first book, nice is just a place in France. The number we made. We just made it the New York Times bestseller list. The number one book was Lean In. So, like, it's hard.
Jared Freid
You have to be like. Also, this happened to me before. I was in the top 10 for Netflix for 37 and single.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
If I made it one more day, it would be a whole week and then it would have been, like on the Billboard charts. It would have, like, made this like. Like, there's like a thing to being on the top 10 Netflix for a week. You get something comes to you.
Jordana Abraham
That's pretty cool.
Jared Freid
It's pretty cool. I was there for like six days and be. Because they took. What was it? It was Entourage. Not Entourage. What's the show with the Rock where he plays an agent? It was like him, but it was Entourage but with the Rock.
Jordana Abraham
Is this a good. Was this a good show?
Jared Freid
It was a show that was on for a million years. Ballers. Okay, so Ballers iconic show. Ballers also went on Netflix the week that 37 single went on Netflix. But then I got kicked off because Ballers doesn't go on as a show. It goes on as seasons. So Ballers season five and seven kicked me off, and then I didn't make it for the full week.
Jordana Abraham
Do you still like I hate the Rock? You love the rock.
Jared Freid
No, I love them. The Rock. Yes. He's responded to me on Twitter.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, wow.
Jared Freid
Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
Your idol.
Jared Freid
We've. We. I made fun of him many times. There was a time where I made fun of him because the. He kept talking about, my tequila's coming out. My tequila is coming out. And I was like, the Rock's tequila is like my girlfriend that lives. That's a model in Canada. Like, it's not happening. And then he responded to that.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, yeah.
Jared Freid
And then the tequila came out, and I did a brand deal with them.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, wow.
Jared Freid
It all came full circle. Thank God that tequila came out.
Jordana Abraham
He's your. Is your arch nemesis.
Jared Freid
That's right. So listen, this is all to say if I didn't make the New York Times top 11. We tried.
Jordana Abraham
I'm sure you will.
Jared Freid
Well, we'll see. It doesn't matter. I'm here.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
It's not about the lists we didn't make. It's the list we talked about along the way. I'm doing okay. I'm. I'm very stressed. I'm not killing it. Don't say that, too.
Jordana Abraham
What do they call it in Yiddish? Like an. The Iron Hara.
Jared Freid
What is that? I think sounds scary.
Jordana Abraham
Sammy told me about it. It's like when you, like, say something out loud and it's kind of like a Yiddish jinx or something.
Jared Freid
Yeah, Yeah. I don't want to Yiddish jinx. The Yiddish jinx is my mom telling me that I've eaten too much.
Jordana Abraham
The Iron Horror.
Jared Freid

Jared Freid
All right, let's start the show.
Jordana Abraham
I have an IG or Picky for you. I'm like that meme of the Titanic woman. It's been 80 years. I had a third date with a guy I met on Hinge. I got to a restaurant at 7:30 on a Friday. When I walk in I see him standing there with a gallon jug of water. Not a large water bottle, but a literal gallon of Poland Spring. Picture attached for reference.
Jared Freid
I know the gallon.
Jordana Abraham
I know the gallon. I didn't need. I didn't need the picture either.
Jared Freid
Didn't need it. It was sitting in my brain.
Jordana Abraham
It helps. I asked him about the water and he said he's trying to drink a gallon of water every day. When we sat at the table, he placed it on the ground and it made a distinct thunk. This wasn't exactly sexy. Couldn't he have finished the gallon of water during the day while he was at work? Or abandon the little bit he had left before he goes on a date? He asked if we wanted to relocate and I had largely forgotten about the
Jared Freid
gallon of water during dinner, you ready to get up? Puts the gallon over someone bring.
Jordana Abraham
I'm trying to think. What, you think it's worse to bring a gallon of water to a date or like a like checked size luggage?
Jared Freid
Check size luggage.
Jordana Abraham
It's worse.
Jared Freid
Ah, no. At least you're aspirational. At least you might be going somewhere.
Jordana Abraham
You might going somewhere cool.
Jared Freid
Came from somewhere great. A jug of water. It's like, sorry to ruin your macros, dude.
Jordana Abraham
However, when we were walking down third, instead of holding my hand, he was swinging the gallon back and forth and I could hear the water swishing around. I was so icked out. When we were sitting at a table at the next place, he kept picking up the gallon of water and taking sips. Just ask for a water like a normal person.
Jared Freid
Well then he wouldn't have the measure.
Jordana Abraham
He wouldn't get the track. It's like the Apple watch right after the swinging and swishing and drinking from it in a public space that had had its own running water, I couldn't recover. So what do you guys say? Icky or picky that A guy brings 3/4 a 3/4 empty gallon of water on a date? Signed not thirsty enough for this.
Jared Freid
It's tough. I just saw. I just did a like a podcast with two bodybuilders and they had a huge job.
Jordana Abraham
Rock.
Jared Freid
Yeah, I was hanging out with the Rock. Me and the Rock got together every Monday. I don't know if guys want to have sex.
Jordana Abraham
Like that's just kind of like I understand the urge to bring the water bottle. Listen, I was someone who used to be obsessed with steps. The 10 I would covet, I was like 10, 000 steps, right? Like I was like very, very.
Jared Freid
It becomes one of those things where impulsive, right? And it's like good day, bad day.
Jordana Abraham
Right?
Jared Freid
Didn't get it right.
Jordana Abraham
And I would wear my watch to places I shouldn't wear a watch too just to. So I didn't miss any count of any steps. Crazy looking back but like I get it. But going on a date, you're a guy. I'm just kind of like, wouldn't you realize this is like not going to be some like when this would like lower your chances, right?
Jared Freid
I think. Well, there is a little bit. Especially when you meet someone on Hinge and you're going out for drinks. I think this is kind of the boring part of Hinge. I think this is like the problem with dating apps a little bit is like the adventure is so taken from it.
Jordana Abraham
Like the excitement.
Jared Freid
The excitement, the anything could happen on this date is kind of gone. When you meet on a dating app, when it's like, I'll meet you at 7pm on Thursday, and would you like to go on a date with me? Like, it.
Jordana Abraham
Like, there's no will they. Won't they ask? Right, Right.
Jared Freid
And there's no will they. Won't they, you know, get a little messy tonight and, you know, hook up?
Jordana Abraham
Like. Right.
Jared Freid
So maybe, you know, I think it goes all ways. Like, if. If. If you're getting, like, the safety of the app and you're not just, like, meeting someone that you met at a bar before and, hey, let's go on the sexy date, or you're meeting someone out. Like, I think the minute you put on this, like, uniform of the dating app, like this, like, umbrella of the dating app, it kind of, like, translates through the whole thing. So he. Like, it's funny you mentioned, like, come on, he's going on a date. Like, dude, bring it. You could. Anything could happen. But it's like, I've been that guy on a dating app where I'm like,
Jordana Abraham
I give up my. My. My stats for this.
Jared Freid
Right? Do I want to give up my Tuesday? I'm kind of having grilled chicken. Do I want to drink? Do I want to.
Jordana Abraham
But what if he.
Jared Freid
Like, this person worth it is a little bit of, like, how people date on those first couple dates.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
And it's weird because you're right. Like, you brought a jug on a first date. Like, what if it, like, turned into something awesome? Like, aren't you trying to, like, impress this person? But, like, do you think this is.
Jordana Abraham
This would be worse if they met in person and then this was, like, their first date after meeting at, like, a bar or something?
Jared Freid
It would. It would be less understandable.
Jordana Abraham
Okay.
Jared Freid
You know, like, the hinge aspect of it, like, makes me understand.
Jordana Abraham
But he wants to go to another bar after, so he clearly thinks the date is going well. Why not toss it then?
Jared Freid
No, you can't toss it. He's gonna. Or, like, toss your watch out. Even just, like, watch.
Jordana Abraham
Put it in. Or put it in a real bottle. I. I think it would be worse. It's worse that it's not a real water bottle too. No, I'm like, at least dress up your compulsive habit.
Jared Freid
The bowling springs bottle is like, what you do when you're trying to, like, be like, this is like, classic muscle bro.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
Kind of act like this. I understand why, Like, I've seen a dude with a Poland spring.
Jordana Abraham
He's like, because like, real water bottles are for like wimps.
Jared Freid
No, it's. I think it's a measurement thing. It's like, oh, you just bought a bunch of Costco. I don't know. I. I just. It is. This is not me defending it as much as understanding like the mindset of like, yeah, I gotta go meet this girl before anything can happen it.
Jordana Abraham
But not realizing that it might ruin the day. Vibes weird.
Jared Freid
I don't think any man thinks that a water bottle is in their way of how great they are. And that's like male confidence. I think, like, would you care. Would I care if a woman had the bottle on the date swing?
Jordana Abraham
She try to hold her hand, she puts the water bottle in her.
Jared Freid
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh. I wouldn't care if we had a fun time. I think I could get beyond.
Jordana Abraham
Would you call out it?
Jared Freid
Yeah, I would call it. I would make fun of it for the rest of their lives.
Jordana Abraham
Right? Like, I think if I could call it out too. He was like a recognized like taking it like it was funny.
Jared Freid
I don't think she's being picky if I'm put to. To task. To answer this, I do think it's like low effort. Low effort. And like, am I just checked off of a list of things you had to do today.
Jordana Abraham
Like, right.
Jared Freid
You couldn't just leave this at home. You didn't make it broke. The water, didn't finish before 6pm you didn't think that. You didn't get it done.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
So like two fails today. You didn't finish your water and you didn't loser. Right. Well, I'm just like. It does feel like I'm being like. I can understand someone being like, what the. Like, wasn't this a special night for you? For me? Well, I think we all want to feel special.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah. It's a similar thing to like someone wearing like sweatpants and like, I don't know, like not to like not trying on a date.
Jared Freid
Right. You're also getting like a window into how, you know, flexible they are. Like, do you have fun or does all fun have to operate around your water intake? You know, like, I know you're on this like strict thing. Oh, it's sober January or whatever the thing you're doing. I'm preparing for a high rocks. Like, that's like another thing you hear a lot now. Like, I'm preparing for a high rocks, which is like, like just the new version of Hyrox. Hyrox is like the new version of CrossFit. Same douche, different workout. Similar workout enough. Same type of person. Like, are you able to fit me in around this thing that you're doing? I can understand being like, ah, this is a pretty regimented person that isn't really up for, like, the fun and adventure that I'm looking for.
Jordana Abraham
We're not that into you.
Jared Freid
Right.
Jordana Abraham
I once said no to a guy asking me on a date because I was doing a juice cleanse. And it was because I didn't really want to go out with him that badly.
Jared Freid
I mean, I've had that. I've been on dates with women that they were like, like, let's go on a date. And then it's like, okay, well, it's gonna be coffee. And like, I, you know, after I was like, how about this place? How about this place? Well, I've decided to stop drinking now. Like, you know, you know, like today. Like, you know, like, so I get to deal, you know, I, I, you know, I get the.
Jordana Abraham
No, but don't you do coffee dates now?
Jared Freid
I do. I, but I, you know, I could go on a coffee day. I, I go, I, I think anyone can go on a coffee day and have a fun time. Like, I just.
Jordana Abraham
Maybe that's what they were thinking though.
Jared Freid
Yeah, I should have her.
Jordana Abraham
Hey, I just Venmoed you for rent.

Jordana Abraham
We should. Kelly.
Jared Freid
Kelly Knight.
Jordana Abraham
Yes.
Jared Freid
I'm a 34 year old woman. I've been on a GLP1 for weight loss since January. I would consider my relationship to weight in my body similar to how Jared talks about himself. Okay, so you love yourself. I have yo yoed my whole life and finally I'm excited to feel like I have something I can control and see results. It's also something I've been insecure about and I'm seeing my confidence return. I'm also dating and trying to figure out how to balance with the effects of the GLP1s. I can get extreme alcohol version version. And one drink is a lot of time. Most I can do maybe two. Also yesterday I went on a first date after taking my shot in the morning. We went to a street fest and then got food and ice cream. I had one drink at the fest and then shut it down. We went to an Asian place for dinner where you order at the counter and they bring to you. We decided to split some things and I was barely able to eat. I felt a little awkward about it, but not but tried not to draw attention and he didn't seem to mind. Then we went to get ice cream which I this guy doesn't stop. This is like today. I called the hotel lobby and I was like, hey, do you guys have like laundry at the hotel? And this woman was like, hi, thank you for calling the lobby. And I go, hey, oh, have you staben. Well, I go, I'm looking for the laundry. They go, well the laundry, we do have laundry, but not in house. It is sent out and it has to get there before 9am or you can't do the laundry. I'm looking at my clock, it's like 8:50. She goes, so if you would like the laundry, we can start with that. And I'm going, shut the back up. I need to get it in. I hear you. Like, come on, shut up. She could be. She kept going. She's like, and on Wednesdays we offer a different type of laundry service. I'm like, it's 9:00am Okay, I get it. Like this woman's on the date. She's like, yeah, I guess we'll do Asian food. And how about some ice cream and then a sundae and then a milkshake and then how about we have another beer?
Jordana Abraham
And then she's like, Ben Stiller. And along came Paul.
Jared Freid
This is totally the same thing. So my question is. Oh. Then went to ice cream, which I had suggested before. We got dinner and I ordered one scoop, but again, I could barely eat more than a few bites. I tried to hide how much I ate because again, I was a little too embarrassed. So my question is, how do I deal with the effects of GLP1s in the future while balancing dating dynamics that often revolve around eating and drinking? I don't want to bring it up yet to dates because truthfully, barely any of my friends know and I'm private about it.
Jordana Abraham
It.
Jared Freid
I also don't want to come off like a wet blanket on dates, especially when he is paying. I should note on my date, he paid for drinks and dinner earlier than I offered to buy the ice cream. But to try and to take some of the pressure off as a gesture for a man, if a woman didn't eat on the date, would that be a red flag? Especially if he's paying. Anyways, curious for your thoughts, particularly Jared, since I know you're starting it too and figured others could relate since this is a new drug and I'm sure more are trying. Thanks for all you do. We'll go V Dating woes. What do we think?
Jordana Abraham
I like this question.
Jared Freid
Great question.
Jordana Abraham
Question. Definitely interested to hear your take.
Jared Freid
Yeah.
Jordana Abraham
Because you were, you had been. Were you dating when you were on.
Jared Freid
I was dating.
Jordana Abraham
Like, had you been on dates while on it?
Jared Freid
A couple.
Jordana Abraham
Okay. Did you feel like.
Jared Freid
No conscious about it. I'm out there with it. I'm on it.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah, you start it right.
Jared Freid
Like right away to me. No. Yeah. I, I'm on a, I'm on a GLP1. I think it's like Alcoholics Anonymous. I don't give a. I, I. Yeah, I'm Jared. I think, I think the I, I, I can relate to the shame because when people say it's a vulnerable thing to say, it's a vulnerable to say any drug you're on. You know, I think of it like ADD medication. I don't think of it as a vanity medication. I think of it as like a, a lifestyle medication.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
But that's me trying to change the tune. Hopefully me saying this here helps in some small way, but I, I think the vanity element of it has been overplayed. Like it is such a, it's a day changer for me. Like the being able to like live a life without food on my mind.
Jordana Abraham
Do you feel like because you look at it like what's, let's say you were just using it for vanity.
Jared Freid
I Mean, I am part of it. Vanity is a part of it. But I'm saying, like, I don't, I think it's a whole lifestyle thing. You know, I want to fit in my pants while also not sitting there. You know, I lost ten pounds very quickly on it and then leveled off and I lost the 10 pounds without trying to lose 10 pounds. I've never done that in my life. Like, and it was like taking away extracurricular eating, not eating that I enjoy doing. Like, I don't, I kind of don't see what, like, what, maybe she's on too high a setting a dosage. You know, maybe that's worth thinking about because I never got sick from like I was eating.
Jordana Abraham
I also think everyone probably reacts differently, right?
Jared Freid
Everyone reacts. And here's the other thing. So I, I don't know, but I can't tell her how to feel. She says she's not, doesn't feel comfortable divulging this. I, I also think she's noticing how much she's eating more than anyone would on a date with her.
Jordana Abraham
I agree with that. I don't think anyone's like, looking at how much you're eating.
Jared Freid
The only time I did date someone who was on it that wouldn't tell me. And I, I, after a, it took me a while to feel that.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
And I felt that it was a we for me. It felt like we weren't getting intimate because I wasn't getting let into that part of their life. It was way different than, oh my God, I'm wasting all this money. It wasn't like George Costanza with the woman who was, you know, purging in the bathroom. You know, like, that was a whole Seinfeld episode. I didn't ever felt that I was wasting money or time. I was just happy to be out with them.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
But I did feel the only version that was a negative to me was, you're not letting me into your life. And I don't think we're getting to know each other.
Jordana Abraham
I think it's harder for a woman to say it than a man.
Jared Freid
True, I could understand that.
Jordana Abraham
I think there's like a little bit more of like a, like, you know, looks based societal pressure to that. So I can understand why she's like, I don't want to like, just like tell someone that that feels maybe more intimate to her than it would be to you.
Jared Freid
No, I, listen, I'd admit to that. I, I, I'm giving my perspective.
Jordana Abraham
I, I don't think he notices. I agree with you, I don't think.
Jared Freid
Right.
Jordana Abraham
It sounds like it's affecting the way that she acts, which is the more important thing, I think, for. It sounds like she's kind of, like, getting anxious about it, and maybe, like, I think the. The. I think she would feel more free if she just said it right.
Jared Freid
Well, you know, it's funny. Food's a crutch no matter what. Like, she's realizing the crutch of food that she was using. You know, like, she'd go on these dates, and she'd probably have all these things before, and maybe that was, like, kind of a way of getting through the date, you know, even if you didn't want that food. Like, you're not even. The whole thing I've noticed with the GLP1 is, like, I'm more in touch with my stomach. Like, I, I. I, like, know when I'm full.
Jordana Abraham
Responsive to, like, hunger cues. Yeah.
Jared Freid
Yeah. And, like, also just, like, I have a. You know, they used to say, well, maybe you're thirsty. That's why you feel hungry. And so I would drink water, and I'd still be like, well, no, I'm gonna eat everything in this. No, I have. Drink water.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
And I go, oh, I was just thirsty. Like, so that. That's like a. That feels great to not know. But then I have breakfast, and I go, I'm done. I'm not, like, thinking of having the cookie while I'm eating the bagel.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
Which feels great. But I'm saying for her, I think, like, now you're realizing the amount you want to eat is, you know, like, I. I don't know. Like, I. I think if you said to him, like, oh, I'm good. I'm so full. I don't think he'd be like, oh, this chick's on the drugs. You know? Like, I don't think.
Jordana Abraham
Right. Or like, I can't believe I paid for that whole sandwich and she only ate.
Jared Freid
Like, I think she's playing it up again. And I. I'm insecure in that way, too. I would feel the same way.
Jordana Abraham
I'm trying to. Yeah, I'm. If you didn't. I know, like, you wouldn't care if someone you were dating on. Especially being on it yourself. Right. But do you think, let's say it was, like, something else that someone was using? Do you think there would be, like, a heroin?
Jared Freid
What if it was? I feel like, where. What if it was?
Jordana Abraham
I mean, I'm trying to think of something that would affect your, like, behavior. Maybe on the date date, that's like a little bit more vulnerable. Like, I'm on Zoloft. I don't know if that would affect me on a date, except for maybe I'd be, like, in a better mood.
Jared Freid
Well, Zoloft, you know, I can understand how someone would not talk about Zoloft.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
Like, because the concern being, well, am I with someone who needs that to feel happy?
Jordana Abraham
Right. Well, same way with the, the GLP
Jared Freid
one, I think a little bit, like, I went to. I guess my brain wouldn't go that way, but, yeah, good, Right. Am I dating someone who. I don't know. Like, the idea that someone would be like, what if they gain back the weight? Like, I, I don't.
Jordana Abraham
Vulnerability is like, this is something I struggle with. That's the vulnerability in taking anything right. It's like, right. Or talking about taking anything right.
Jared Freid
But I think the right person, it frees you up to talk about it. I would say as the guy who's been across the table from someone who may have been on a GLP one, it, it didn't relate to the date until it related to, like, am I getting to know this person?
Jordana Abraham
Right. And that's why I would encourage her to say it, because I also think, like, the person who has a weird reaction to it, probably not a person for you.
Jared Freid
It's informative.
Jordana Abraham
Yeah.
Jared Freid
You know, if I went on dates with, you know, you know, Emily, if I went on dates with her and she was like, what the. Really? You need that?
Jordana Abraham
Right. That would be.
Jared Freid
If she was like, you look fine,
Jordana Abraham
she wouldn't be the person for you.
Jared Freid
Someone who didn't get it.
Jordana Abraham
That's what I'm saying.
Jared Freid
You don't need it. You look fine. Like, whenever someone says you don't need it, you look fine. I'm always like, oh, they don't get it.
Jordana Abraham
Right. I don't want to look fine.
Jared Freid
No, I want to look. I want to look sexy. I want to look great. No, I, I, But I mean, like, but it's so much more than that to me.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
As a, as a drug. I mean, my parents don't get it.
Jordana Abraham
Aren't they on it?
Jared Freid
They're on it. My dad's. They're on it. And they, but they think of it as only a vanity drug. And I think that that's. I think them and I have arguments about it, you know, like.
Jordana Abraham
Right.
Jared Freid
Like, I, I lost 10. And my, my mom goes, did you go to the doc? I went to the doctor. And she goes, did they up it up?
Jordana Abraham
What like, the.
Jared Freid
The dosage. And I go, no. They said, good job. You lost ten pounds. That's what a normal person says to someone who lost ten pounds. Not, did you get more drugs, Right, So you could lose more? I have a video on my phone of me taping the nurse and going, tell my parents I don't need more GLP1. And the nurse is laughing. She's like, you look fine.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, my God.
Jared Freid
And the nurse is going, jerry, he doesn't need it. And my dad goes, she doesn't know what she's talking about.
Jordana Abraham
Oh, my God. You're like the male version of the oversharing listener who wrote in that her mother came to her pregnancy appointment with her and asked the doctor if she was getting too much weight. It.
Jared Freid
Oh, my God. Yeah, listen, that person and I.
Jordana Abraham
How much does she weigh?
Jared Freid
Is that my sister? Yeah. All right, well, we solve dating again.
Jordana Abraham
We did it. We will be back next week. Thank you guys, for listening. Bye.

Episode Theme:
Examining the role of GLP-1 medications in modern dating, the anxieties, etiquette, and stigmas around disclosing use, and how food and body image intersect with dating culture. Jordana shares her suburban parking anxiety (00:30–04:15):
Teeth cleaning and childhood braces stories (05:11–06:50):
Dog parent confessions (06:51–10:59):
Tour dates and personal milestones (10:47–18:07):
Listener Scenario:
A woman recounts a third date where the man brings a literal gallon jug of water to the restaurant and later to the next bar, swinging it as they walk. She’s turned off by the peculiar focus on finishing his gallon water goal during their date.
Listener Email Recap:
A 34-year-old woman, on GLP-1 medication for weight loss, asks whether (and how) to disclose this fact to dates, given its effects (low appetite, altered drinking). Her recent experience: after minimal eating and drinking on a date, she worries about coming off as “a wet blanket,” especially when he is paying.

— Jordana (39:06)
Conversational, humorous, occasionally self-deprecating. Hosts blend personal anecdotes, biting social observation, and empathy for modern dating struggles. Jordana adopts a pragmatic, wry tone; Jared intersperses with comedic riffs and honest vulnerability.
This episode offers a nuanced, comedic, and ultimately empathetic look at the new ways medical trends cross over into the minefield of millennial dating. The hosts land on the value of communication and reducing shame—whether about calories, career goals, or pharmaceutical intervention.
