So I'm no mechanic, but I do know when the temperature gauge in my car quickly spikes to the right it's time to pull the car over. Something is wrong. The dashboard on your car provides all sorts of indicators for what's actually going on with your car. When the needle is close to that letter “e” it's time to get some gas, right? Well your walk with Jesus is no different. Anger and shortness with your family members is a dashboard light of your spiritual life. Indicating that you haven't spent enough time with Jesus. It's time to pull over, get quiet and listen for His voice. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 8, as he continues his message “Jesus Is The Light Of The World.”
You know my past was riddled with addiction. I tried everything to be sober. I went to NA, AA, CA. You name it, I tried it, and I'd stay sober for a few months at a time. But I would always go back to my addiction, and while there's nothing intrinsically wrong with these programs, in the absence of a connection with Jesus they are just self-control exercises, and in the end there'll be a lot of sober people still in hell. My life was forever changed by a single encounter with Jesus. This is Pastor Ben's point today. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 8, as he begins his message “Jesus Is The Light Of The World.”
No one on earth is without sin. No one is perfect. Sure there are probably some who are kinder, more loving, and more moral than others. But no one can stand up to the Holy Standard of God. God in heaven requires complete perfection to enter heaven, and you're probably thinking well then what am I supposed to do? Well today Pastor Ben reminds all of us of the importance of being in a relationship with the only perfect person who's ever walked this earth. That person is Jesus Christ. He is our only hope to gain entrance into heaven. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 8, as he continues his message “Gracious Forgiveness.”
Most communications experts agree that a large portion of communication happens through body language. Not the words we say. So we need to be very careful about the way we communicate with our bodies. Pastor Ben just described a position of crossed arms and perhaps a furrowed brow. Now you tell me who wants to spend time with a person who has that body language, when they're trying to share something important, no one. You'll learn today that you've been called to be present with the people God has placed in your life. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 8, as he begins his message “Gracious Forgiveness.”
Some people shy away from faith in Jesus because it's so opposed to the ways of the world. No one wants to stick out like a sore thumb. But that's exactly what happens when you come to know Jesus as your Lord and Savior. You stick out. You are different. There's really no way around it. Pastor Ben implores anyone under the sound of his voice today to decide to confess your sins, repent, and receive Jesus as Lord and Savior of your life. You'll learn that this is just the beginning. You'll have many more steps after this milestone. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 7, as he continues his message “Rejected By The Authorities.”
The end is the end. Once you've passed from this life to the next there's no changing your decision as to whether you chose Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior or not. This is just one of many sobering truths that Pastor Ben will share with you today. So stop and ask yourself, do I actually know Jesus as my Lord and Savior or do I just believe that He existed, and maybe He was just a good person. It's not enough to believe that Jesus was a good person. You have to first recognize that you are a sinner in need of saving, and then you can accept the forgiveness provided by Jesus. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 7, as he begins his message “Rejected By The Authorities.”
The word of God is the best advice that we can give to anybody when they're struggling. Whether it be a relative, a friend, or even a stranger. There's nothing that anyone person is going through that Jesus can not fully understand and relate to. Today Pastor Ben teaches us that nobody knows us like Jesus. Therefore nobody can satisfy us and our needs in the way that Jesus can. Speak the word of God into the lives of those you love daily and watch as the Lord fills their lives with contentment and love. Here's Pastor Ben in the Book of John chapter 7, as he continues his message “The Promise Of The Holy Spirit.”
Being thirsty for the Lord is constantly seeking and allowing Him to fill our glass. Blessing us in a way that gives us the ability to pour into others. True joy and peace are found only in the Lord.We were not placed on this earth to just exist. Going about our day waiting for it to be over, so that we can get on to the next. Today Pastor Ben teaches that one thing to gain from this message is how great our lives will be when we come to the Lord. That today is the day to get involved in the things of God. Something changes in us when we devote our time to God. Simply just letting Him in. It's a level of peace that's almost unexplainable. It's like He grabbed hold of the reins and completely changed the direction in which we were headed, giving us a new way. He shapes and molds us into something entirely different, giving us new life. Today Pastor Ben teaches that giving our deep personal commitment to the Lord and opening up to Jesus Christ will change our lives. Reading the Bible for the first time can feel like trying to understand a foreign language. We find ourselves constantly reading and rereading, cross referencing with other Bible versions trying to understand the meaning of what we've just read. Today Pastor Ben teaches us that eventually God will open up our minds in ways we never thought possible. We need to study the word of God, allowing Him to guide us in our understanding, confirming what we hear, and sharing His word in a way that honors Him.
