After nearly a decade of coaching ultrarunners, I've started to notice certain patterns that immediately make me pay closer attention. They're not guarantees that something will go wrong...but they are red flags that often lead to injury, burnout, missed goals, or unnecessary frustration if they're ignored. In this episode, I'm sharing the 10 things that make me nervous as a coach—from blindly following a training plan and making huge jumps in mileage to being afraid to walk, obsessing over missed runs, and chasing the next magic bullet. If you're training for your first (or farthest) ultra, this episode will help you identify potential blind spots before they become bigger problems. In this episode, you'll learn:Why "just following the plan" isn't always the best strategyThe training mistakes that most often lead to injury or burnoutHow fear quietly influences your training decisionsWhy consistency beats perfection every timeWhen it's time to ask for help before things blow upIf you'd like a second set of experienced eyes on your training, check out Training Plan Triage, my personalized review service designed to help you catch potential issues before they derail your race.☀️ JOIN THE 30 DAY SHAKEDOWN & STRETCHING CHALLENGE📈 BOOK A TRAINING PLAN TRIAGE🏃🏻♀️GET MY FREE 8-WEEK BASE BUILDING TRAINING PLAN🔥 APPLY FOR MY GROUP COACHING PROGRAM➡️ CLICK HERE TO JOIN MY PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP📸 FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM📝 IF I HELPED YOU RUN YOUR FIRST ULTRA, FILL OUT THIS FORM

If you are not attempting things before you feel 100% ready, then you're missing out! This week's episode is based around the idea that you need to: "Go Before You Are Ready" in order to accomplish your ultra goals. Waiting until you're confident in your ability will result in you waiting indefinitely. Cue this up for your next workout and really embrace this idea in ONE SMALL WAY today, and then again tomorrow, and the day after that, and so on and so forth. ☀️ JOIN THE 30 DAY SHAKEDOWN & STRETCHING CHALLENGE📈 BOOK A TRAINING PLAN TRIAGE🏃🏻♀️GET MY FREE 8-WEEK BASE BUILDING TRAINING PLAN🔥 APPLY FOR MY GROUP COACHING PROGRAM➡️ CLICK HERE TO JOIN MY PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP📸 FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM📝 IF I HELPED YOU RUN YOUR FIRST ULTRA, FILL OUT THIS FORM

Ever notice how the people around you have plenty of opinions about your ultra running? In this episode, I'm sharing a simple encounter with a bear in my neighborhood that turned into a powerful coaching lesson about fear, beliefs, and why so many runners unknowingly carry around stories that aren't actually their own.In this episode, we cover:Why the same situation can lead to completely different reactions based on our beliefs. How friends, family, social media, and even other runners unknowingly pass their limiting beliefs onto us.The importance of questioning where your thoughts about training, aging, injury, and performance actually came from. How separating facts from borrowed beliefs can completely change your training and your confidence.Remember: Just because someone hands you a belief doesn't mean you have to carry it. 😎☀️ JOIN THE 30 DAY SHAKEDOWN & STRETCHING CHALLENGE📈 BOOK A TRAINING PLAN TRIAGE🏃🏻♀️GET MY FREE 8-WEEK BASE BUILDING TRAINING PLAN🔥 APPLY FOR MY GROUP COACHING PROGRAM➡️ CLICK HERE TO JOIN MY PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP📸 FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM📝 IF I HELPED YOU RUN YOUR FIRST ULTRA, FILL OUT THIS FORM

This week I'm chatting with my friend, Sian Milne, about strength & mobility for runners. Sian is a former stunt woman for the film industry turned strength & mobility coach, and a runner on top of that! So she knows a thing or two about bodies and how to keep them strong and resilient. The biggest takeaway that I hope you get from this episode is this: You cannot become a stronger runner by just running. There will come a point when you'll hit a barrier, and the only way to break through is with strength & mobility. Last weekend, I headed to Arizona to crew and coach a handful of She Runs Ultras athletes at the Hypnosis Night Race - an overnight trail event put on Aravaipa Running. The conditions were brutal: triple-digit temperatures, relentless wind, blowing sand, and miles of technical desert terrain in the dark.In this episode, we're talking about:What it was like to race through the Arizona desert at nightWhy every ultrarunner will eventually face a DNFThe question I asked that completely changed how one athlete viewed her raceWhy finish lines aren't the only measure of successThe hidden value of a DNF—and why it might be one of the most important experiences you can have as an ultrarunnerBecause sometimes the biggest win isn't crossing the finish line.Sometimes it's walking away with lessons, skills, and experience you'll carry into every race that comes after.Links & ResourcesHypnosis Night Race: https://www.aravaiparunning.com/insomniac/hypnosis/Want to hear more about DNFs? Most runners think they need more motivation, discipline, or a better training plan. But what if the bigger factor is the environment you're training in?In this episode, Meghan explores how the people around you, the content you consume, and the systems you've built into your life can either support your ultra goals or make them harder than they need to be.In this episode:• How the people around you shape what feels possible• Why consistency has more to do with environment than motivation• The hidden impact of social media, podcasts, and online communities• Practical ways to create an environment that supports your goals• Why you don't have to figure out ultrarunning on your ownIf you're training for your first or farthest ultra, this episode is for you.☀️ JOIN THE 30 DAY SHAKEDOWN & STRETCHING CHALLENGE📈 BOOK A TRAINING PLAN TRIAGE🏃🏻♀️GET MY FREE 8-WEEK BASE BUILDING TRAINING PLAN🔥 APPLY FOR MY GROUP COACHING PROGRAM➡️ CLICK HERE TO JOIN MY PRIVATE FACEBOOK GROUP📸 FOLLOW ME ON INSTAGRAM📝 IF I HELPED YOU RUN YOUR FIRST ULTRA, FILL OUT THIS FORM
