I'm so excited about our upcoming Women's virtual bible study! We wanted to do a collaborative podcast episode to talk about how women's stories in the bible are so powerful and so important to learn! The conversation today with Dawn Jackson and Hilary Holmes also touches on the portrayal of women in the church and the importance of highlighting the stories of women in the Bible. We explore the concept of calling and the unique stories of women in the Bible, emphasizing the process of 'being' before 'doing.' And we dive into the idea of women reflecting God's image and the beauty of diversity and collaboration among women. Want to join us for our Living by Design Bible Study! Today's episode is fun because I get to chat with my Mama! With Mothers Day coming up, it can be a beautiful time for some and a harder time for others. My mom has been a pastor for over 30 years and has impacted so many women other than just me! Enjoy our honest convo as we talk about our relationship as mother and daughter.

This episode I'm excited to chat with Stevon Lewis, Licensed Psychotherapist who specializes in Imposter Syndrome. He is an incredible voice in this field and has been a featured expert for various major television and media platforms such as, The Oprah Winfrey Network, The Love Hour hosted by KevonStage and many other shows. He hosts his own podcast, "How to Talk to High Achievers About Anything" which is incredible as well. In this episode, we explore the concept of the mind and its connection to the body. Pain and disease often begin in the brain and nervous system and manifest in the body. But we dive into the biblical definitions of the mind and the renewing of the mind, emphasizing the importance of interpreting life through the lens of God's word. What does it mean to have the mind of Christ? How can believers adopt God's attitudes through the work of the Holy Spirit. We can experience the transformative power of renewing the mind and the benefits it brings, such as holiness, peace, and continual growth. I'm excited to have my sweet friend on the podcast this week, Megan Tibbits. She's an amazing singer, worshipper, harp player and artist. Megan appeared before a national TV audience on ABC’s Rising Star, advancing to the top 12, and released her debut album ‘Until I Fly’ soon after. Since then, Megan has worked with artists such as Jennifer Lopez, Jonathan McReynolds, Danny Gokey, Brandon Heath & Marvin Winans Jr., and her videos have gotten the attention of artists such as Alicia Keys, Tauren Wells, etc. Most recently, Megan appeared as “The Harpist” on FOX’s I Can See Your Voice and is soon to go on tour with author Bob Goff. She's much more than an artist but I loved getting to chat about the industry and worship and how to navigate some gray areas when it comes to leading God's people in something so holy. We explore the pressure to perform and the need to maintain a worshipful heart in all aspects of life because all of us have some kind of influence we've been called to steward. This is such a powerful conversation, and she brings such spiritual wisdom and that all can learn a great deal from! Today's episode is with my long time friend Jeremiah Woods (no relation lol). We met in college and he was a part of the chapel team and has been an inspiration to me and so many others in the worship space. He's not only phenomenally talented, but he has such wisdom, depth, insight and a heart for Jesus and His church! He currently serves at Lakewood Church and has sung for artists such as Israel Houghton and many others! We dive into many things around worship and worship leading. We've both navigated worship and the worship "industry" and the importance of having a heart of worship and the importance of surrendering to God's presence. Jeremiah emphasizes the significance of contentment in small worship spaces and the responsibility that comes with larger platforms and does a great job to encourage worship leaders to focus on what God is doing and to prioritize ministry to Him. We also highlight the importance of avoiding pride and recognizing God's work in worship. This conversation explores the importance of offering true worship and the tests of faithfulness and humility that worship leaders face. This discussion emphasizes the need to redirect the focus back to God and repositioning of our hearts. Jeremiah has started the Vocal Booth app, a practical tool for singers and worship leaders to train their voices and release their authentic sound. She gives such great insight into viewing our bodies as beautiful and integral parts of our walk with Jesus. Alisa shares her journey of discovering Christ-centered fitness and how it transformed her relationship with her body. We explore the misconception that our bodies are bad and the importance of understanding the difference between the body and the flesh. It's so important to treat our bodies well because they are created by God and are meant to be honored and cared for. We talk all the time on this podcast about the relationship with our emotions, our mind and our physical health. Alisa does a great job at helping people redefine their why! She encourages women to have a vision for their bodies that is connected to their value and to focus on the internal benefits of movement rather than external appearance. In this episode, I talk with my wise friend Tina Watkins- Quaye about the journey of healing and reparenting oneself in the context of relationships and marriage. We explore the impact of childhood trauma and the importance of understanding one's past experiences, as well as the need for self-reflection, observation, and intentionality in the healing process. Our conversation also touches on the challenges and growth that come with navigating relationships and the importance of choosing a partner who supports personal growth and spiritual development. We discuss reevaluating society's definition of success, particularly in relationships and the importance of looking for character traits and integrity and going beyond just physical attributes when choosing a partner. Tin shares about healing past childhood wounds through marriage and navigating triggers by establishing boundaries and seeking safety. This is a great conversation we can all learn from! Don't forget to follow Tina @tinawquaye and her and her husband's amazing podcast @themaritalarts

In this episode, we dig into some common core wounds that affect our healing journey. It's so common, yet we all think we're the only ones who question or doubt our own healing. We don't realize the impact of deep core wounds on our self-image and how we can live limited in our daily lives. We explore the development of core wounds and the effects they have on our relationships and sense of belonging. We note the importance of examining self-betrayal and changing the narrative we believe about ourselves to a narrative that God has about us. I try to provide some practical steps to recognize and explore emotions and offer some guidance on rewriting the narrative to align with God's truth.
